Kiley looks down and steps forward and stands between the two paths. She takes a deep breath and tries to clear her mind of everything else except her pendulem. She thinks of what Pol had taught her and tries to use his technique to meditate, focusing only on the crystal and nothing else. She removes the crystal from around her neck and holds it in her hand her arm extended. Foucusing the lets her conciousness drift from the room so that she hears nothing and sees nothing. Focusing on the crystal and it's power she mental asks. "Which direction should we go?" She lets the crystal drop from her hand while she holds the end of the chain. Her mouth continues to from the words "Guide us." though she makes no sound. Her mind still removed from the group every fiber of her being focuces on the crystal as the chain pulls taught and it begins to sway.
------------------------------------------------------------------ I rolled a 10. My soul is 7. Anything I add to that? I can't recall.
Tia sighed audibly and rested against the Oracillion, and nodded with Pol's assessment. "Start moving starwise and get our bearings that way. I like it." She looked to the others present. "Don't worry, I'll cover the rear." When Kiley pulled out her crystal pendant, Tia watched and noted the difficulty with which Kiley was focusing. "Is everything alright, Kiley?" Tia inquired wearing an expression of concern upon her face.
The Knight, Kraln Massaed, drew his sword, as the rest of the party began to form up. "All right, let's go then." He proceded off down the left way. After a short walk, the Supplicants ended up at a junction in the corridor where there were four doors. Directly to their right was an open foyer down a short corridor. Each of the sat on opposite sides and facing a set of dors on the other side of he junction. Kraln spoke again, "More choices. How should we proceed?"
======== OOC: Starwise is the equivilent, in Citadel, of clockwise. It is the direction the stars rotate in the heavens if watched for the entire evening.
Kiley puts her crystal away as Kraln directs the group. She looks at Tia and forces a smile, shaking her head "no". Following with the others she staysback quiet, trying to understand the feeling she had gotten. As they come to the four doors she looks at each one. An idea comes to her. "Sir, " she walks up next to Kraln, "before I had tried to find out which direction we should go. I got the feeling that something was here, but it was trying to stay hidden. Maybe if I focus more I can get an answer this time. Would you like me to try?" Maybe we have moved in the wrong direction. If the pendent says to go back, maybe We've moved far enough from it for it not to effect me. And if we are heading the right way, maybe I can stand in front of each door and see which one is has the most resistance. Maybe even Pol can help. Maybe, he can't see like us, maybe what he can see can help though.
"i had said that there was an nihistians here. a ghost of sorts. it may be hiding. if you would like i could try to see if i can see it again. its a gift that belongs to my family." she tried to wait patiently for an answer, but patiens was not a vertue that she had an aboundance of.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
As they come to the next split, it sets Pol's mental gears a turning. a place this old....why would there still by any remains left enough to even hold a spirit....there would have to be protections....and further, this place looks like it was once a defense outpost....how would I defend an outpost? misdirection....perhaps when we think we are moving, we are only thinking it is happening...something fooling our sense of motion and allowing us to walk forever and never get anywhere....perhaps that is why she could not get a reading....a test would be best....
Speaking up, Pol says, " with all this talk of spirits, it makes me wonder, could there not be lingering protections on this place? we might think we are walking, but actually going nowhere...I would propose a test to this...if the rest of you dont mind that is..."
((paranoia paranoia everybody's comin to getcha! ))
Watching the others silently, Deus kept a careful eye out, watching every dark corner carefully. He wasn't entirely sure just what was going on; the hushed conversations of the others confirmed his suspicions that something odd was going on, though. This whole place seemed like one where quiet words were best spoken...
Why is it always spirits with our group...? Smiling wanely at the thought, he nodded to Mi'ia and Pol, agreeing silently with them. He stood, waiting to assist if needed. If we use everyone's skills, we will get through ok…
Kraln listened as the conversation continued. The Knight looked to Kiley, "Go ahead, but if it does it again, we'll simply search room by room. Deus and Tia, come on up here. The three of us will be entering rooms first. This allows us to be prepared for any hostile creatures on the other side." He drew his sword and readied his shield. "As always, I have point. Pol, stay with Kiley while she does her divination. Lylith, make sure nothing comes from down that corridor." He looked around to the four doors. "Any takers on which one first?"
Tia leaned Oracillion against the wall. It would honestly be of little use inside the confined area. She drew her small teng sword and held it in the traditional style of her homeland. She looked and said to Kraln, "Any one works for me, Master Kraln." She hoped he would choose quickly. In her experience, once the momentum started, the rest followed quickly.
mi'ia ears percked up. she listened cearfully. She started down the hall that she had heard a voice from. But relizing what she was doin, she stopped and told the others, "I think that we should got this way. Something here..." She broke off abrouptly. "we should investigate down this hall." she looked at the others and waited for someone to give something as to an affermination, or decline.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Pol nods to kraln and readies a sutra, sticking close to Kiley as he waits for someone else to confirm or deny Mi'ia's suggestion. wherever we go, my role's going to be the same...so it's not like I need to worry about where we're going....still...I expect there to be traps around here...
Kiley stands the the middle of the room and draws her crystal again. She again tries to focus on nothing but the penduelm, clearing her mind and using the techinques that Pol had shown her. Breathing slowing she drops the pendent and whispers. "Guide us." The chain pulls tight and once again the crystal sways. --------------------------------------------------------------------- I rolled a 5, soul 7.
Smiling a toothing grin at Kraln, he slipped his spear back into it's back shethe. When it came to close combat, there was nothing like a Gras'Vhan clawing out your face...
Looking back at the Knight, he stood ready to rush into the room after him, shield at the ready. He was sure he could hold the doorway easily, if needed...
Kraln shoved the door aside, but the rotted wood gave way and foul-smelling air spills out. A cloud of filthy dust stormed over the Knight and the Supplicants. The mood of the air changed, however, as a disturbing shuffle emanated from within the room.
Tia, sword in hand but unable to see, drew back. She knew not what would emerge, so she gave a half step back of room. "By the Willow", she muttered as the dust cleared and a body, distinctly deceased and stripped of flesh and sinew, emerged and raised it's own rusted sword high over head. The skull of the skeleton was locked in the usual eternally sardonic grin of the dead. A rasping noise issued from the mouth of the skeleton, much like a death cry. More sounds, similar but with different pitches and tones, could be discerned from the room behind it, still chocked with swirling dust.
============ OOC: First round of combat. Actions and initiatives, please.
Upon seeing the undead monstrosity, Pol leaps in front of Kiley and begins chanting his prayer of exorcism, channelling the energy through his sutra to keep the skeletal foe held in place. As he chants his sutra glows with holy light, and his tattoo's seem to light up, he becomes surrounded by a small halo of light energies that flicker and become reinforced by his chanting.
mi'ia sees poll glowing this fantastic color. she starts to go to him as if drawn like moth to a lightbulb. she starts to reach for him to try and grasp the pretty glow that is eminating from him.
((ooc:So then when did we find a room? I thought that we were stopped.))
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Initiative: 8, sorry bout that ----------------------------------------- Kiley grabs the crystal as it pulls away from her trying to keep hold of it. She looks at at door by Mi'ia and then at the ones that Kraln is about to open. "No wait! The crystal says this way!" She calls out as the door falls apart and the dust emerges. She covers her mouth so not to breath in the dust. Her eyes open wide as the skeleton emerges and Pol jumps in front of her. She takes a step back in fear gripping her crystal tightly. "What is...that?" Oh Willow, what is this? What do I do now?
(Outpost, Hallway, standing just outside the doorway)
Deus watched almost lazily as the door collapsed, clenching his fists. His battle sense told him something was going to be waiting on the other side of the door.
Watching as the first of the skeletons shambled out of the door, Deus’ eyes widened. He had expected a ghost of some sort, yes. But this… “Abomination!” Dues growled, his eyes narrowing.
Happy he had put his spear away, There is nothing worth stabbing on them…, he rushed forward, shoulder low to slam into the thing. …this should do nicely, though! ------- Initiative: 10 Attack vs. the Skeleton: 10 Damage: 10 + 5 (atk) +10 (Super Strength) + 10 (Massive Damage)
Bellowing in anger at the sight of the walking dead, Tia brought her sword down onto the skeleton, only to watch it skitter harmlessly away. Recovering from the blow, Tia resolves herself and squares up for another run.

As he chants his sutra glows with holy light, and his tattoo's seem to light up, he becomes surrounded by a small halo of light energies that flicker and become reinforced by his chanting. The skeleton, imbued with the power of Pol's faith, disintegrates into dust.
Two more skeletons emerge from the portal into the room, obscured by the dust of their fallen bretheren. Kraln, responding with quick thought and battle-tested reflexes, placed his blade across the front of the nearest skeleton, only to watch the blade angle and deflect off of the bones. "It seems our blades are powerless here." He called out as he sheathed his sword and produced short, metal Bence stick.

Happy he had put his spear away, There is nothing worth stabbing on them…, he rushed forward, shoulder low to slam into the thing. …this should do nicely, though! However, the skeleton had already moved past Deus' point of view, and the proud warrior charged, shoulder first, into the murky room. He could hear more gasping noises surrounding him.

Ma'Ia sees Pol glowing this fantastic color. She starts to go to him as if drawn like moth to a flame. The Mowershian starts to reach for him to try and grasp the pretty glow that is eminating from him. However, her attention is hastily drawn to the weapon Kraln is now brandishing: a Bence stick.

After getting bitchslapped by the skeletal reinforcements, Pol backs up, trying to distance himself a bit while staying as a shield for Kiley. However, at no point does his chanting stop, instead, as the first skeleton crumbles, He refocuses his divine wrath upon the new threats.
To do so more effectively, Pol draws another sutra, and, with one in each hand he hurls them at the skeletal horrors. as the sutra's speed along through the air, they begin to disintigrate, trailing sparkles of divine light in thier wake before exploding upon contact with the skeletal foes.
-------------- OOC: I got a 9! say goodbye mr. skeleton! (or at least being frozen in place)
if they are frozen, the skeletons would be sheathed in a cocoon of light....otherwise, consumed by the blast ;D
Mi'ia watches the bence stick for a moment relizing that there was something wrong. She looks around and sees that there are ghosts clothed in the bones of past dead. She snarls for a moment, and launches into the room that they are coming out of, trying to hit any of them on her way.
((occ:12 for intitive and 10 for attack))

Kiley screams when Pol gets attacked by the skeleton, she steps back her mind racing as she tries to think what to do. She tries clearing her head and focusing her mind on the feeling she had the last time. Oh Willow, please help me again. Please let it happen again. Please, let me help. Let me help fight. I want to protect them. Please, Willow, please. She looks up again still prayingin her mind.
As if an answer to her prayers Kiley feels the power flow through her like it had before. She looks at the the skeletons with a anger in her eyes instead of the fear from last time. "Leave him ALONE!" she shouts at them throwing out her hand as it and her eyes beginng glowing white. A white shot erupts from her palm and flies towards one of the skeletons. ------------------------------------------------------------- 11 for initiative. 5 for Soul attack.
