The sun hung lightly in the azure sky, bringing cool breezes to the hills and vales of the Merkis Moors. The last stop on the pilgrimage of the Order's hopeful Supplicants, Merkis Moor holds the dreams and tired spirits of the Heroes of the Order. At the outskirts of the boggy marsh, the Supplicants have gathered, a small group of mismatched group of a half dozen with their one Knight leading their pilgrimage.
During the noonday, the sun became eclipsed by occasional spotty clouds. The Supplicants began their travel to the Sacred Copse of the Twelve Willows with a feast, set out upon a grass covered knoll. There, the seven faithful souls delved into a delectible array of food from their respective homelands. They were now only a matter of a day away from their goal.

Pol, having eaten his meal away from the others in order to hide his face and eyes, begins to make his way back to the camp. Though his eyes are blind and cannot see, he can still make out a constant mental image of his surroundings. Being finished with his meal, Pol re-wraps his face quickly and expertly, and upon donning his hat and angling it downward he stands, gathers his equipment and begins to walk back towards the group.
((OOC: eh, its not a great first post, but I havent been in the mindset of Pol for a while, so I am going to have to get used to it once more))
ma'ia twitched her whiskers as she ate, a habbit picked up from her grandmother, and looked at all who was around her as if trying to take in weather or not she could trust these people. she was not paranoid but just coutious of whos company she was around for a while. as she was finishing her meal she stood, licked her paws, walked to the egde of the group and started to play with her tail. she was comtemplating on weather or not to get up and try to make friends with one of her new "mates." she decided that it would probly be better to let them come to her or wait untill she knew how they would react better to her. every now and again she would look up to make sure that group of people she was traveling with had not left.
((ooc trying this... never done this... think i did it right....))
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Washing his food down with a large swallow of water, Deus sat back with a sigh, content with his lunch. He had traveled a bit to get to this meeting, and it had been a while since he had had such good food. Stretching out in the warm sun, he looked around at the other Supplicants that had shared his meal.
A handful of humans, a Mowershian female, and a person wrapped in a heavy cloak. He could not tell what race he hailed from; the cloak hide his features well, and he seemed to be staying to himself. Shrugging, he watched the group, noting to himself what how they held themselves and what sort of weapons they carried. Nodding, he figured that they could all hold their own, if it came to it. He knew he could.
Hearing the sweet songs of birds chirping behind him, he decided to open up some conversation. They were being a bit too quiet for his tastes. Clearing his throat to draw attention to himself, he started.
"I am Deus Gras'Vhan, hailing from Fortress Vahnhast, in Upper Arcoz. Where are you folks from?"
Tia looked chatted with the Knight about trivial things like the weather and the shady trees on the knoll. She took some meat and quickly ate it. She leaned back, propped on her elbow, looking at the clouds in the sky.
Deus' introduction snapped her back to lucidity. She stood up and introduced herself to him. "I am Tia Tashine. I come from the town of Tershann, in Mowershe." She bowed to Dues, as that is the custom in her homeland.
The arcozian intrigued her. She had only heard of them before this journey. She had a terrific opportunity to learn about them now.

mi'ia looked up from playing with her tail when she heard deus say something. she wasnt quite sure what it was at first, being distracted. so she got up and started to walk over there to ask what had been said when when tia stood up and introduced herself.
mi'ia got over there and introduced herself as "lylith mi'ia of mowershe. you can call me mi'ia." she said bowing. then smiled at both of them. at lest she knew that there was someone from her land here. it was a small comfert.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
As Pol made his way back to the group he thought, well, if I'm going to be traveling with them, I might as well introduce myself..
He got back to the others just as Deus finished introducing himself. Watching the others Pol nodded to each as they introduced themselves, and when Mi'ia finished he spoke up in a deep voice, remenicent of an opera singer, " I am Pol. "
(( finally decided on the voice he would have....the kinda voice you'd expect from someone of much larger physique. ^_^ ahhh....Irony, thy taste is sweet. unfortunatly its another short post... ))
The Knight, garbed in the traditional cerulean and silver robes of the Order stands up. "It's good to see you all getting along so well. I would like to take this time to..."
His voice trails off as his gaze appears to fall beyond the horizon. There, dotting the line drawn to part the heavens, walked a singular line of people, apparently fleeing over the hill. As the group on the knoll watches, a large creature breaks over the hill, chasing seemingly insignificant people who struggle to ward it off with meager weapons.
"We need to help them. They will not survive otherwise..." His voice trailing off into the ether, the Knight grabs his long sword and shield, and quickly steps pace towards the fray. Pausing only to turn, he looks at the bewildered Supplicants. "Come on, you all. There's no safety here, now." With that, he silently rushes off.
Tia sat up long ago to behold this spectacle. When the Knight called them to arms, she hesitated, unsure of what everyone else would do. Was she really ready to help those people she didn't even know? Especially at her own risk? She wasn't sure just yet, but she knew deep in her heart she couldn't let that Knight down. Right now, he was counting on them to help, and that was what she intended to do.
======== OOC: Hope this ends up moving better. So far, so good. =D

Deus nodded his head as he took in the names of his companions. "Powerful names, those. They should serve you well."
He turned and watched with a mild eye, as he saw the knight suddenly stand. Twisting to look behind him, Deus' eyes go wide at the sight of people fleeing in obvious terror. He scrambled for his weapons as he took in their plight.
Pushing himself to his feet, he secured his shield to his arm and drew a javelin from its pack. He took a few steps forward, then stopped and looked over his shoulder at the others hesitance.
"Come, hurry, before all is lost! They need our help!"
He rushed off to join the battle, hoping he was not too late.
mi'ia looked at the knight as he stood up. barely reconising what he said as her eye was cought by a butterfly that paased infront of her vision. she look after the butterfly until she heard dues say something about helping some one. she looked up to see people frightened and running away from some monster. realizinf what she had missed she started to run toword the monster in hope of helping the people. as she was running toword the monster she started to wonder if her new comrades names mean anything important or not, and weather or not the butterfly had some where important to be.
hmmm..... wonder what the monster looks like.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
In what seemed a moment, the party closed the gap to the monstrous enemy. A large creature with rough hide and large canine fangs, it appeared like a naked wolf, though drastically larger. The knight exclaimed, "Foul cur! In the name of the Goddess incarnate, we shall slay you!" He raised his blade high in the air and brings it down towards his foe. The dire wolf, being nimble and alerted to the Knight's prescence, slunk sideways in a eerily unnatural fashion. The Knight's sword tanged against the dust of the trail.
Tia brandished her halberd and swung where the wolf had been before, only to find the lupine form gazing down upon her. Uncertain for a moment, her attack hesitated just long enough to bounce harmlessly off it's thick hide.
The enraged animal howled in defiance at its assailants. Lunging at Tia, it opened its maw wide enough to bite her head off her shoulders. Only a split second and her reflexes saved her from a gorey death.
====== OOC: Now would be a good time to declare attacks. Roll you dice and get teh attacks posted out. Yay, BBS combat.

Taking a quick stock of the situation, Deus pondered on what to do. There were innocents fleeing, while the wolf… thing… snapped at their feet. Seeing Tia rush in and almost loose her head to its biting maw, Deus let go of thought and simply moved.
Slipping his spear back into its case, he pulled a javelin. Rushing in behind Tia, he threw the weapon, probing the creatures defenses. As he reached the girl, he helped her to her feet, then smiled a toothy grin at her.
((OOC: sorry for taking so long to post, had some trouble with getting to this site...and logging in...))
As peace of the day was shattered by the cries of the innocent, Pol watched as the others moved quickly to thier aid...
upon arriving at the scene, Pol stopped. staying a good ten feet from the ravenous beast and the others, he watched and waited, sizing up the monstrous opponent and his allies, he knew niether thier strengths nor weaknesses, and could say the same for the Dire Wolf that was so encensed. He watched as others brandished thier weapons, a Halberd, a Sword and a Javelin...
think....this dread beast is obviously strong and tough, but what do all of these weapons have in common...they can be used to pierce the flesh....perhaps if I can distract the beast, they can focus thier attacks as one to pierce it's thick hide....but how do I get them to cooperate? well...here goes nothing.
Clearing his throat and unleashing his voice in a deep tone, Pol says, " everyone! focus your attacks at a single point, I will try to distract it while you take it down! "
hearing this new voice, mi'ia looked around forgetting about the monster. she looked at pol for the first time and begain to wonder why he wore all of those bandages. she started to walk towords him untill she realized taht he was saying some about distracting something, she looked around and remembered that there was a huge wolf trying to, what she presumed to be, eat everyone. she couldnt remember when there was a time when she was that hungery.
she turned back towords the monster and took a stance to fight the monster. she begain to wonder as she got ready to fight this thing if it knew what it was doing or was just a dumb beast without a soul to be saved. she begain to feel pity for it and thought to put it out of its misery befor it could do more harm and cause others what misery it felt.
she decieded that it must be causing this pain because it feels such pain or has before and so wishes it on others. she cant have that. others can not bear your burden, only you should feel your burden or someone who welcomes it willingly. she had to stop this monster befor it pushes its purden onto others.
she resloved her will and started towords the monster to stop it.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Deus's javelin sailed through the ether and connected with the wolf as it skidded to a stop. The javelin ceased its forward movement and fell out, ripping flesh with it. Tia looked up towards Deus, "Yeah, thanks." She stood up, and readied herself for a new attack. "Where the wound is looks good. Attack there, Deus?"

Hearing a yell from behind him, Deus glanced over his shoulder at Pol. Nodding at the mans orders, he could not help but wonder what he had planned...
He snapped back to the present when he heard the sharp growl of pain Looking up to see the creature hurt by his javelin, he drew a spear from his pack.
"The side, then!"
He crouched, shield held high, looking for a chance to slip in under the creatures defenses and strike...
Pol blinked his unseeing eyes in suprise when he heard the compliance of the others.. that was....easy, uh...now what? think....what can I do to distract a supernatural beast of doom? ......supernatural...of course! I can try to exorcise it! if nothing else my chanting should at least draw its attention!
Retreating back and to the right a few steps Pol reaches to his belt and pulls one of his many pre-made talismans from its waterproofed case. (talisman count: 49).
Holding the talisman in front of himself at arms length with his right hand, and placing his left hand (pinky and ring finger curled, index and middle fingers straight up and thumb perpendicular to the index and middle fingers) behind the paper talisman itself, Pol begins chanting his incantation in a loud and clear voice. As he chants his hands begin to glow lightly, as do the markings on the talisman itself...
((not sure if the wolf would be held in place by an exorcism, but considering that it's dire I assumed it might have some degree of an effect...or at least make him look like an easy target. if you want an exact position of where Pol is, he's about 20 feet from the dire wolf and out in the open at least 5 to 10 feet from the nearest ally of the group. I also figured that I would leave the effects, if any, up to our DM))
when mi'ia heard the strange chanting she turned around to look at what was making that sound. when she saw the glowing thing she stopped where she was and was intransed by who pretty it looked. she forgot about the monster and started to walk towords the pretty light.
the only thing that she could think of is who pretty that light was. glowing as it was. she had to touch that thing that was glowing.
((ooc: damn the pretty thing. she gets distraced soo easily from them. part of her race flaws.))
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
The Knight raised his sword overhead, moving with an almost unnatural stealth. The dire wolf turned its gaping maw towards Pol. Simultaneously entrance, like Lylith, the wolf seems angrier than the party's hapless Mowershian counterpart. In a strike performed in almost perfect unison, the Knight and Tia struck out at the monster. Their two blades sunk into its thick flesh, knocking it back. The Knight shouted aloud,[glow=navy,5,500]"DEUS! FINISH IT!!"[/glow]The dire wolf flailed and lashed about, pinned like a writhing insect and mounted on velvet. Deus feels oddly compelled by the Knight's words. Somehow, they instill him with a compulsion beyond his own, almost an otherwordly influence.

Hearing Pol murmuring behind him, he kept a careful eye on the large wolf in front of him. He waited for a moment, watching carefully, then dived forward, slapping one of its claws aside, bodily knocking it back from attacking one of the fleeing innocents. He watched as the creature was entranced by Pol’s spell, noting that it seemed to be drawing it into a trance of some sort.
Hearing the Knight calling his name, Deus narrowed his eyes and dropped his defensive stance. Feeling the subtle effects of a compulsion come over his mind, he shook his head, unsuccessfully trying to push through the mind fog.
Growling with a low rumble in his voice, Deus stepped forward, bracing himself for the strike. Dodging a wild attack from the creature, he rushed forward, slamming his shoulder into the wolf. Knocking it over, he thrust out brutally, aiming for the opening in the creatures side…
