Watching the others run about, Deus smiled a little as he saw them come back into the camp. Pushing himself off the log he was sitting on, he walked over to the others. "Kiley, if you are tired, you really should rest. But with that crystal thing of yours..."
He crouched, giving her a big, toothy grin. "You don't look too heavy." Gesturing with his strong arms, he made it clear he wanted to carry her. "I suppose you could always help us search while you are resting. I promise I will not drop you... unless you want me to."
Wandering all over simply proved to Tia how hungry she had become. Suddenly, she recalled that she had not eaten for hours. As she and Pol made it back to camp, she looked around for her pack. Upon locating it, she tore viciously into her trail rations.
Kraln looked up at the two Supplicants. "It's ok. I think we should wait until morning light to search again. Lylith should be ok out there until then."
(Lylith's Tree) The winds parted the boughs and branches. An odd quiet settled on the forest and the world grew somehow darker in an instant. "You see it too, Cub?" Jaya spoke softly, as if being to loud would disorient the world and send it crashing into Entropy.
She smiles and bows her head at Deus, "Thank you kindly, but I will be all right. Plus it is beter if I stand for the pendulum to work." She then looks at Pol and then at Tia. "If you think Miss Mi'ia will be ok... " she trails off abit. She looks at Pol again. "What do you think Pol?" Her stomach growls slightly but she ignors it. She has gone hungry before. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- OCC: Has any of us eaten sense this morning?
"see it? yes. i have been able to see things like this my whole life. why is it still here besides being afraid of pantheon?" mi'ia looks at the ghost and waits.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
((^^; perhaps I should have mentioned I would be away this weekend well, I'm back now, and.....stuff, the holiday's rock, that's all I'm going to say.))
After seeing his jesting fail utterly, Pol was slightly disenheartened, and as he looked around at the others, he thought: maybe I should just give up on the jokes, they never seem to make anyone laugh....that...and it seems my stomach is growling at me....the others look rather hungry, perhaps the smell of food will lure Mi'ia back to us...or, perhaps a shining talisman will....it's not like I have a lack of them...I'll just have to make sure I make two more next time I get the time... Taking a deep breath, and letting it out, Pol replies, " it would be best if we got food first, I have a new plan as to how to get our missing friend back to us, if we cannot find her, let us bait her...I figure a well cooked meal will bring her around, and if not, perhaps a shining talisman. however, I would personally prefer to try the meal first, if only to have food ready for when she returns... now, first things first, does anyone have a cookable meal or are we stuck with trail rations?" after asking his question, Pol realizes something next time I come across a village, I'm buying a portable cooking set...or at least a pot, a ladle, and some ingredients....
Kiley nodds, glad he mentioned eating. She had practically been forced to go hungry once before in an attempt to further her training and unlock her talents. She knew she could indure the pain, but she didn't like to. "I can try to find some eatible plants if you like me to."
Suddenly and startlingly, a pair of freshly caught, bound, and killed rabbits flopped as if produced from no where. Everyone caught a glimpse of the warrioress, Mehm Ryth, just before she disappeared back into the wood. It seemed the Grandmaster's Knights were far more interesting than originally percieved.
(Ma'Ia's Tree)
The Grandmaster disappeared as the wind finished blowing. "You should rejoin you friends. Follow the Jiret the Dreamer. Look to the sky."
Nodding to Kiley as she mentioned edible plants, Pol began to say an affirmitave when the rabbits hit the ground. " well....looks like we don't have to go searching for food, but what's the cost of this...either they don't want to chance us starving, they are testing us, both, or perhaps they are simply being nice....in any case, you don't look a gift horse in the mouth." With a grin, Pol walked over to the rabbits and pulled out an exorcism talisman, after saying a quick chant, he used his exorcismic abilities to drive out any unwanted spirits. As his spiritual powers activated, the talisman glowed, and as he finished, he kept it glowing a little longer, hoping that Mi'ia would see it and follow it back to them. meanwhile, with his free hand (assuming there were no spirits driven out or something strange happened when he 'exorcised' the rabbits) Pol took the bound rabbits in hand and brought them to the fireplace, " if anyone has a skinning knife, now's the time to use it...." Looking over to Kiley, he said, " if your going to be looking for plants though, it would be helpful if you got some sapling branches, or some with a green inside, so that we can spit these rabbits and roast them..."
((with exorcism at 4, its pretty much impossible for him to fail (the max roll of 2d6 being 12, and his spirit at 8) if you still want a roll, then I'll make one, but...I figure I can get away with this one ;D ))
mi'ia look after the grandmaster and thought to herself, but i like the forrest. i dont want to go back yet. but she gets up and starts back.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Watching the rabbits come sail out of the nearby forest, Deus scratched the back of his head, grinning a little. "Well... that was easy. I wonder if I should go hunt down some cave snail pies while I am it?"
Seeing nothing happen at his second comment, he pulled his thin travel knife out of his bag, waving it towards the helpless rabbits. Grabbing both bodies with one hand, he headed off to the nearby stream he had heard a couple minutes off to skin and clean the things. He couldn't help but remember the first time he had done this on his own, just starting his journey. He had botched his hunting, and ended up chasing the rabbit around for hours before he caught the thing.
"Times have certainly changed", he mused to himself, heading back to camp, now clean rabbits in hand.
Kiley begins serching the ground and the edge of the campsite for the sticks and eatible plants. She speaks out as she calls. "Hmmmm, Master Kraln said the only test would come later. I think the Grandmaster is protecting us. Maybe she isn't supposed to be guiding us, thats Master Kraln's job, so maybe she's just helping us a little, making sure we don't run into too much trouble. Like a guardian spirit, a guiding force that keeps a safe but distance watch over their ward, but should the ward needs them, they are ready to help." She continues to search the area but finds nothing. In frustation she bangs her head on a tree, then discovers ugly fruits growing on it. She tries to climb the tree so she can get a better look at the fruit and remove some sticks for the rabbits. Failing horribly at climbing the tree Kiley reaches to pull off one of the fruits. Looking at it closely she tries to reconize it, trying to remember if it is eatible or not. ------------------------------------------------------------------- gahhh! I rolled an 11! am I ever going to pass anything!
ok i have wilderness survival and maybe medical cuz its herbolgy. and maybe poisons if the fruit is poisonious or not.
Tia stretched out and watched Kiley trying to climb. She giggled to herself. She walked over and said to Kiley, "Let me try. Those fruits, right?" She jumped, grabbed a branch and quickly swung her legs over her head and latched onto the branch. Setting herself up onto the branch, she scooted out to where the fruit was at and picked some off the branches. She called out, "Kiley, catch!" She tossed down a half dozen fruits, one at a time.
Kraln watched and looked around to Pol and Deus. It seemed his Supplicants were quite adept at working together at least. He hoped that the Grandmasters could at least see that in them and keep them together as a team. He pulled out a pouch and made his way towards where the rabbits were cooking. "Allow me. I'm something of a decent cook." He held up the pouch, "Spices from my hometown of Lannil in Meremel. Tonight we dine with flair and style." He grinned, "At least for the wilderness."
=========== OOC: Climbing Roll: 5. Body Stat = 8. BTW, no roll to catch the crabapples nor to identify them. They are wild, larger than normal, but still edible.
mi'ia walked back into camp. she looked around to see what was going on in the camp.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Kiley smiles and calls up, "Thank you Miss Tia." I was begining to feel quite useless, but at least I can remember these fruits are eatible even if they are quite ugly "Can you maybe find a few straight branches to use as spits?" she calls as Mi'ia walks back into camp. Kiley drops the crabapples and runs over to her. "Miss Mi'ia. You're alright! We were worried about you!"
((finnaly remembered the right name for the damn things....oi))
After Kraln offered to cook, Pol simply kept his sutra alight in case Mi'ia needed a light to find them by. As she returned to the camp, Pol looked over and watched as Kiley greeted her, and stood up to walk over and make a small bow, " I am sorry if I offended you earlier...I meant only to lighten the mood, but it seems I need alot more work on my humor, I wish to apologize...and I remembered you liked the shining of a sutra...so, here..." Holding the shining sutra out to Mi'ia, Pol continues, " it should last a few more minutes before disintigrating...but I couldn't really think of anything else I could give you."
As Lylith approached, Kraln shot up and bolted ver to her. "Are you ok, Ma'Ia?" He was relieved to find her in one piece. "Many terrible things lurk in this canyon. Is everything alright?" He inquired.
Tia tossed down two sticks, thick and green, to the ground just before jumping down. "These should do." She noticed Ma'Ia and called out, "Have a good nap, Cub?" she said, jesting as only a pair raised in Mowershe could.
================ OOC: A few more posts, everyone. I'll be handing out experience again, for roleplaying this time. Lets keep going.
mi'ia looked at the four. she started with kaily, "yes I am fine. you neednt to worrie about me." she then looked to pol, "there is no need to apollegize to me. i was having trouble long befor you said that." then to kraln, "terrible thing eh? i grew up in an area like this. i do not thing that i would have had a problem." she gave him a smile. and then nto tia "sleep? who has time to sleep when that forrest is so fun to catch mice in?" her smile turned to an impish grin.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Kiley smiles and nodds. "I'm glad you are ok." As her stomach growls again she remembers the food. She goes back a picks out the best looking of the ugly fruits, frims ones that are mostly unblenished. She wraps her cloak around her arm to create an impromtu basket and fills it with fruit before walking over to Pol. "I found these, Pol. What should we do with them?"
Nodding to Mi'ia, Pol said, " well, perhaps with time and trust, we can all help you to get over the problems." then, with a smile, Pol looked over to Kiley, " cut them into 1/8th slices so that we can stuff the rabbits with them and the spices our protector has so kindly pro-offered." After saying this, Pol took up the sticks that were gathered and set to work building a small spit on which to roast the rabbits.
