Yes it is here. The blessed and dreaded fist day of school. You hat for the summer to end but you are looking forward to going back to school. The clubs should be good this year. You've heard they are starting up some new ones. The home work is a chore but at least you'll get to hang with your friends alot and maybe even make some new ones.
So get ready Heavens High because here you come! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Well I have been wanting to to this for a while but didn't have any ideas. Finally earlier today the muse found me and now I am prepared to run my own rpg. It's it exciting?
The information I have for you about the is limited, but that is only because I want things to be a surprise for you, not because I haven't thought this out. Well, then lets get started.
You will be playing high schools student's at Heaven's High. A rather prominent high school on Japan's northern coast. Your age is up to you, prvided you are of high school age, and no 10 year old geniuses please. Weither it is your first day of freshmen, sophmore, junior, or senior year is up to you.
There are also a list of clubs that your characters are requiered to join. The school likes wel rounded students and the clubs promote this. There are clubs held after school and during lunch. You must join one club, though two would be nice. Obviously if you choose two clubs one must be a lunch club and one after school. The after school clubs are: Archery, Computer, Music, and Self-Defense. The Lunch time clubs are Cooking, Gaming, Writting and Student Government. These clubs do have memebr limits and sometimes fill up fast. In other words I want atleast one person in every club, not every one can be a Gamer, the school bugdet can't afford that many controlers.
Well thats it. That what you get to know. Well there is one other thing. The system will be tristat. BESM trstat if we can get it. My goal is to start with in the next month so get in your characters fast. See you at school!
I've been wanting a high school RPG for SOOO long!
I'm in!
Q: Is there a specific Tri Stat system I should be working with?
"4) Lastly, there were some video games that also weakened the MMMG. Most of these games were played at John's house be they video game or rpg." -Celest
"Damn you, Big Brother. Damn you." -Curulambe
"I was told our base was for the Black Man." - batman
To Ant: I would love to use the BESM TriStat provided we can get an online version. I checked the Gaurdians of the Order website for one, however their home page says that they are out of business. Eun is running a game that uses a tristat system. If we can not use BESM I hope to use that system, again if Eun can get it back online. I am looking into other tristat systems available online. As soon as I have a set system I will inform you immediately.
To Eun: Actually it was something I could see myself doing and something I knew I didn't want.
OOOOOooooOOOOoooo!!!!!!! I'm in! I'm going to play!! ;D
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Execellent, that makes four so far. There are also another I am trying to draw in from the darkenhearts. Hopefully if he and Artemi join we will have six and that as my goal.
First order of business, we have a potential system. BESM Fast Play. Look it over. Begining thinking. I am still hoping for a full version of BESM tristat but if I don't have it in by Oct 25, we will use Fast Play.
While I don't want you to immediately work on stats, I still want you to work on backstories. I have come up with a few things that must be in them.
Your age and what grade you are entering, remember you should be of proper age for your grade. I may be willing to allow one or two of you to be a year advanced, but it will require special permission first.
Heavens High being somewhat of a boarding school does offer campus housing. There are certain benifits of living on campus as there are benifits of living off. The campus has a crewful of 9. Any student living on campus must be on campus by that time, or receive special permission to stay off campus for a night (like for a sleep over party). Now ofcourse if you live off campus, your parents set your crewfew and they may not be as strict. However, if you live off campus you will not be able to visit after nine. This means if you left something there you can't get it. Students that do live on campus have access to certain areas after nine. These areas include the libary, commons, some computer labs, and cafeteria. These areas do close at 1 am but by then you better have your homework done.
You will also need to tell me where your parents are. Do they live in town, or are you "sent" to school here. Also what jobs do they have. Do they pay for your schooling or are you on scholarship. If you are on a scholarship you better have excellent study habbits. I will keep track, and you can be in danger of losing them. No orphans please.
Also does your character have a job. As stated earlier th school like well rounded studnet and have jobs is highly encouraged, especially for Junior and Seniors. There are some jobs availible on campus, clean up, cafetria, tutoring, ect. There are also quiet a few cafes, restuantes and stores off campus that hirer stundents regularly. Such jobs will allow you to break campus crewfew, should you live on campus. But you will be expected to return to campus as soon as you are off work.
Now, other than those things the rest of your backstory is up to you. Religion, world travels, pets. Whatever.
Excelente that totals six, my goal. The last I was hoping to bring in turns out won't be able to make it for the opening but as this is highschool, there will be room for late joiners. This doe not mean I will accept slackers now.
As for sports. They are complicated. There are alot of sports and they rotate through the seasons. People who play one sport don't always play all the others. However if you really want a sport, put it in you backstory and I will work it in. Sports can not replace clubs though.
Ok well I hope all of you are working on back stories, I would like them ASAP. I need to know what I'll need to work into the game for you guys.
Eun: ok wait, you said jobs messes up after school clubs so you take an after school club? Just making sure i got that right. ------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ok lets talk about a few things here. In regards to jobs and clubs. School gets out at roughly four n the after noon. Clubs meet after school once a week until about 5:30. This will leave plenty of days left for jobs. The work places in the area know that students must join clubs and are very accomidating. Most jobs give there student employees the fist week of school off of work so they can get ideas of their schedual. This town is basicly built around the school.
Ok as for the clubs, each club has two slots open. Here are the standings thus far. Lunch clubs: Cooking: open, open Gaming: Dyne, open Writting: Eun, Beast Student Government: Artemi, open
After School clubs: Archery: Artemi, open Computer: open, open Music: Dyne, Music Self-Defense: open, open
Lastly, we need to discuss some rules. I will not accept people holding up my game, not with out good reason. If I feel you are holding up the game, your charater may find themselves in the hospital for an unknown amount of time. However, pior notice to a lack of post will allow your character a short disappearnce with a timely reappearance, like a sick day, or a family trip. Lets try to keep contanst about this game ok? If you feel you will not be reliable about posting, as in once a week, talk to me and we will consider some options.

I'll go with music and writing for clubs. I'll try not to hold up the game but there may still be times when I will not be able to post for a few days on acount of camping trips.
I was kind of hoping for art or something but I'll deal.
Sorry, I misread the post. It was made, after all, at like four in the morning. I will sign up for Writing instead. Why? Because I want 4.30-9 shifts. Why? Because if anyone recalls, that's (roughly) the shifts I worked during the week (and it actually ended up being 3-10 most nights during my junior/senior years). It's quite conducive to a 30 hour week, which is some hefty pay. ^.^ Now, then... Since we are doing BESM, I will be definitely looking into my character now.
Remember! Computer -> Writing

Beast: Art is an excellent subject. It hadnt crossed my mind as a club, but I still think I will keep things the way they are. However Art is a great thing to set as one of you classes. Some of clubs may even have classes that could go along with them, such as Music club. I see it as being a similar to a small choir with it's own band. The school, may also have a large Choir and Band or Orchestra. The club is for students how want to learn even more about music and possibly get some experience wrutting music themselves.
As for the other clubs I updated the slot list in my pior list. Music and Writting are now filled.
Ok after a long dicussion with Artemi las night I figure I should tell you a little bit more about the school and the area of Japan it is in.
Heavens High is located in a small town called Kito in the Hokkaido Region of Japan. Hokkaido is the island that makes up Japans norther quarter. The area is becoming a heavy tourist attraction as it boosts over 1,000 festivles each year and some of the most beautiful national parks in the world. The major city of the region is Sapporo, a 17 hour drive from Tokyo. Kito is a small town about an hour north of Sapporo and roughly 10 miles from the coast. The town is fairly new as it has been built around the school.
Heaven's High, sixty years ago, was a large mansion and estate owned by the Sakito family. After WWII the family lost most of their money as the Americans moved into the country. The estate was abandoned though still remained in the family's possesion. In 1970 the family's last heir, a man by the name of Ken Sakito petioned the government and a few buisness men for grants to turn his old family home into a school. The School offically opened it's doors in 1972. It had an overwhelming amount of succes as many families all over Japan were looking for afordable private boarding schools. Over the next five year much of the land surround the old estate was bought up by developers to build housing areas for students' families and stores, public elemetary schools and such to provide for the growing number of families wishing to move there. The school its self also went through many changes as much of the open land that was once the estate grounds was developed to provide living space for the students as well as more class room space. In 1979 the area was offically established as the city of Kito.
Over the years the school came to be known as the best boarding school in the Hakkaido with its near perfect sucess rate of its graduates getting into the prominate colleges. Many of the students say in the region and attend the University in Sapporo. Most of the characters have either been at the school sniced it opened or are former students.
Sports at Heavens high are not a big ordeal. There are ten schools in the area that compeat with the school in sporting events, most of which are indoor or winter sports though Ammerican football is played in the fall. The school does have a rivaly with Hika, a coast town anout 20 miles Northwest of Kito. Hika Public High School is known for calling the students of Heaven's High "snooty". While Heavens High football team is usually defeated by Hika, the rest of the sports are dominated by Heaven's High's teams.
Kito is not a large town. The school's grounds make up roughly one eight of the town and takes up its northern section. It takes a 30 min walk to get from one side of the school to the other. The down town area is just south of the school and is made up of stores, cafes, and small busineses with a few small apartment buildings and two hotels. Just Southwest of the school is a small Temple district with a Shinto Shrine dedicated to the Heavens located there. The Shrine is older than the estate grounds. The Sakito estate was built there so it could be close to it. The towns second source of income is tourists who come to see the Shrine. The rest of the town is housing diveded into three major complexes named for the elementary schools found in their centers. There is the Sakito district to the West, the Kenson to the East and the Sakuraba to the South. The Sakuraba distric is the most expensive housing in the area and considered very high end, built and rented out by the Sakuraba family, a busines family that gave a lot of money to first open the school. Many Sakuraba family members live in the district as there are usually a few Sakurabas attending school at Heaven's High. The other to housing districts are considered middle class housing and were named in rememberance of Ken Sakito who passed away in 1984.
Ok, well maybe that was more than a little bit, but a least now you've had a good history lesson.
Ok well it is the 24th and I have decided to cut my personally deadline a littler short. I have given up on the full version of BESM and have decided to officially use BESM Fast Play. This means that you are officially allowed to begin character stat creation.
However I have a few restrictions. First of all, Fast Play allows 35 character points to use on Stats and Attributes. I am cutting that down to 30. This is a teenager game and no one should be quite at adult level yet. You're close, but just not there.
Secondly, the max I am allowing your stats to be is 7. In addition only one stat may be as high as seven. All others must be 6 or less. Being teens most of your stats should be around 3 or 4, but you guys probably won't follow that. This is why I am adding a cap. A seven will allow for genius level IQs, very strong wills, or obsessed body builders.
Ok lastly, deadline for character creation is Oct 31st. This does not mean the game will start then, this means I want to see your characters stats and stories before the game starts. The sooner every one has their characters in, the soon we start. This means we could statrt before Nov. The lastest we will start will be Nov. 7th and that will only be if I have problems with characters.
If your character is not posted in the Book of Names by Oct 31st you must either one, have notified me on why your character is going to be late and given me a good reason, or two be prepared to join the game when I say and no sooner. Those with a good reason will be able to join the game with minor consequences if any to their character.
Ok well get started. Remember the soon everything is in the better.
Edit: Here is the updated club enrollement list Lunch clubs: Cooking: open, open Gaming: Dyne, open Writting: Eun, Beast Student Government: Artemi, Antaeus
After School clubs: Archery: Artemi, open Computer: Antaeus, open Music: Dyne, open Self-Defense: open, open
