The room was hung in dire hesitation. Somewhere in the deepening fog a woman had opted to strike at the rescuing team of Orphans. With a unified movement, the group had reacted and moved to a stronger position.
Suddenly, the bank burst and the woman appeared again, lashing out violently at Aboriam. The elf, skilled enough as he was, missed his shot and suffered for it with a solid connection from his foe. The rest of the team stood ready for the odd woman's next move. When it came, they gave their all to bring her down.
However, she dodged magic, skipped past arrows, and avoided the well placed strikes of trained warriors on her path across the room. Her target was caught unawares after his swing with his blade sent the Orphan off balance. Maldannon, the second in command of a party sent to recover missing Orphans, realized in a terrifying instant that he was too close to have no guard against this woman.
With a sudden flash, the woman brought her scythe up and through Oire's midsection, cleaving open the armor and exposing the soft flesh underneath to the unnaturally sharp edge of the scythe's blade. Following as only pressure and gravity could allow, the poor Orphan's intestines and stomach spilled out. Oire's eyes suddenly peered into the face of his assailant, confused for a moment. His hands came to rest on the slippery warmth near his waist, and his knees fell to the floor. Finally, exhaling a sharp sigh, Oire Maldannon rolled his eyes into his skull and keeled forward, never to move again.
OOC: Well then, what are we doing now? This is an action post, by the way. I'll take new initiatives, please. Add half your roll to the roll. I'll see you on the next post.
Amie wakes up suddenly though her mind is still locked away in her dreams. She stands quickly and looks straight into the smoke. Any one looking at her would think she is in a kind of trance as while her eyes are focused heavily on the smoke they seem distant and hazed. She takes one step forward, slowly, and then another one much faster than the first. She then takes to long leaps and jumps fully into the smoke.
"Gurnrai tluion itiin." She calls out to the woman in the strange tongue. "Nuymat'th lintre o'Soaa hejria." Her voice rings out through the smoke. "Ikoa lyluia. Lyulul sel Nauld. Nauld maakoar ikea. Ikhloap lyulniaon sh'saha. Asdso'os uparap henl'gasra asds'itiin." ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ roll: 4 x 1.5 -------- total: 6
Everything seemed to slow down as the violent women got though Aboriam, Lylie, Opal, and herself. She turned just after being knocked over, to see Oire keel over intestines spilling everywhere. "You." Jenene said under her breath. Then she waited to see what Amie had in mind.
(OOC:) I rolled a twelve on my intuitive.

Swearing in Kobold, Opal dived toward Oire. Gritting her teeth, she dropped into a crouch next to the man, running her hands over his bloody form. Taking a moment to confirm the prognosis, she swore again as she pulled the human's cloak over him, covering him from view.
Standing with a low growl in her throat, Opal clenched her pick carefully, wishing that her previous Entangle spell had connected. Crouching low behind her shield, she slid over toward the mages, realizing they needed protecting. Watching carefully, she waited for the chance to strike... --- Roll, Initiative: 1d10(7) x 1.5 = 10.5, or 10/11, depending on how you round. Roll, Attack, Pick: 1d20(4) +1 (+1 Pick)= 5. THAC0 of 20, for a 15 total. Roll, Damage, Pick: 1d6(2) +1= 3 Damage
Lylie stood there and watched the teamate fall. Hearing screaming, she stood frozen as she watched the the red and pink fall in a puddle infront of the teamate, the way the colors splashed on the floor. Then she relized that she was the one screaming.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."

The warrior took his hit and twisted slightly, deflecting as much as he could from the devastating blow. As this odd magic using creature walked past, Aboriam slowly... too slowly... turned to follow. As her scythe took out the trusted, beloved Oire, her back became exposed to the Shenachie.
One opportunity. Point blank. From behind. Aboriam thought a flash prayer in his mind to his deity, Silvanus. He focused just to the left of her spine. One arrow arched across the gap between them.
Right now, Aboriam had no time to mourn his friend, lest his other friends join that one...
-------
Based on how I read the post, the enemy walked past Aboriam. If that is correct and she is attacking another in the party, will I be able to get a backstab attempt?
First Attack Roll: unmodified 17, point blank (<10 feet=+2), magic item (+2 bow) and rear attack bonuses (+4) make it a 25. This hits AC (-11) The damage is 8 pts for single damage or 11 for a backstab.
Second shot misses.
(edited for clarity about both shots...)

There was the sound of a voice, screaming in agony. She didn't get so much out of the first victim, but perhaps this 'screamer' would make a legitimate next target...
The sharp pain pierced her breast and the strange woman peered down at the arrowhead protruding from her chest cavity. It wasn't odd, given her occupation. Turning around to her assailant, she watched as another arrow skimmed by her head. Another attacker, and then there was... an Atani? No... there were no Atani here, they avoided the Doom's grave, after all.
She turned her elven frame from the screaming Child to the Speaker and replied, "Maret, yliar gorhr in'ntet, pa'aor." No sooner had she stopped speaking than she raised her weapon again and charged the unsuspecting Bard, who had collapsed into a wailing ball on the floor.
OOC: System Stuuf. Alright, give me actions and reactions, please.
Initiatives (First to Last)[/b] Jenene: 12 Opal: 11 Amie: 6 Lylie: 5 Woman: 2 Aboriam: Inititative please. No bonus this time.
Jenene heard the woman say something and slice Lylie with her blade. "You." She used the spell Summon Swarm. The sound of the upcoming swarm came almost instantly.
Watching where the woman’s attention was drawn, she noticed in horror that she was going after the screaming Lylie. Gritting her teeth, the Dwarven woman rushed forward, diving between the strange attacker and her downed target. Popping up between the two women, Opal raised her shield in one hand a swung with everything she had with the other.
“By the Earth Mother, you shall fall!” she yelled in Dwarven, bringing her pick down on the woman. Opal prayed her aim was true, or at least she drew attention for Lylie to recover…
--- …I rolled a 1. I'm not even going to bother rolling damage. Either way, she’s really more interested in distracting the woman then hurting her.
Also, I found this site. It has a ton of information on AD&D, broken up into sections to make character creation easy. Just thought I’d pass it on.
