Another interesting piece of potentially military tech. Apparently, I like this stuff... If this thing really is anywhere near bullet proof (which I am doubting the fullness of that statement, but I could see the suit stopping low velocity rounds), it looks like it could have some good advantages over our current tech. Thoughts on the matter...?

Speaking of military tech, our friends at Raytheon sent us a new toy. Hurts like fuck and just leaves your skin a little red - it's basically a low-end first-degree burn over your whole body. Not fun, but neither is it permanently damaging. Doesn't even injure the eyes. I'm a fan.

Speaking of ADS, word has it that they are going to give it a full trial on the SWORDS TALON. That would be hot... no pun intended.

I'm not seeing that... unless they miniaturize it a LOT. The TWT for the ADS weighs something like fifty pounds on its own, minus solenoid, power supplies, etc. Also it eats power like nothing.
It'd be awesome, though.

Thoughts on the matter...? I just found out that the Trojan Mobile Armor Program, was not approved by DARPA and is just shut down completly. One of the big reasons is because the trauma plates in existing armor can stop the ball rounds perfectly. DARPA turned him down because he didn't have access to Tungstun or Depleted Uranium rounds to test the suit on it, so DARPA did the tests and it tore the hell out of the suit. The Suit was on Ebay last time I checked but it probably had to be taken down. BUt the dude who made the Bear suit and the Trojan is now bankrupt because no one bought anything he designed....tough break...
