A. You forgot the cube. Second, the SNES because it released by far superior RPG's than any other system.
Chrono Trigger FFII FFIII Secret of Mana Super Mario RPG
Just to name a few.

Oooh... I am tempted to say the PS2 specificly beacause of Xenosaga... But I shall resist the temptation. As much as I like the new systems, I just have not played as many games that hooked me quite like the good old SNES. To add to Az's list, Metal Warriors, Ogre Battle, and Lufia...

I've had her since the launch and she's never failed me yet. With backwards compatability, I can still play my favourite games from the old Playstation and still move forward to the new PS2 games that I love.
Ace Combat 3, 4, and 5 Ring of Red Resident Evil D.C., 2, and 3 (0 and 4 are only reason to ever buy a lunchbox thingy) Red Faction The original Spyro Metal Gear Solid NHL 2002 (I like the players better... so stuff it) DDR (any really) Devil May Cry Grandia and Grandia EX FF VII, VIII, and X2 Grand Theft Auto III (insane fun the first time around) The list goes on....
Add that it has my favourite controller, an built-in DVD player (with no tricks), USB ports for mice and other utilities... and the ability to fit more places than an Xbox (the only competition in my eyes). I love my PS2.

Oh, strop it. There is nothing wrong with the Game Cube. There are some rather good games on it, like Metroid, PSO, and heck, Windwaker was not bad.
Unfortunatly for everything involved, my main genre is RPGs. And the SNES just has the best of them.

I am in full agreeance. I am a Survival Horror fan, but nothing can compare to RPGs. I mean they are fun and suffice my appetite for plot line. Not that other game don't have plot, but it is usually the RPG that has a long, involved, and interesting plot line. And the SNES just had the most of my favorites. The PS2, Dreamcast, and PS had some good ones. But I have to stick with my childhood friend.
Don't knock the cube, RE will smite you if you do. Also the new Zelda looks badass.

Dreamcast because it had awesome games, and it was so far ahead of its time. *Ponders on where to get more games cheap*
*Remembers that the EB Games in Springfield still sells 'em*
Yeah...

I have to go with Az and Artemi on this one Beast. The Gamecube wasn't bad at all. Nintendo has something that not alot of other people have, a long...and by long I mean Insane customer satisfaction record. Out of all of the systems I would have to say that the Nintendo releases will allways be popular over the others because people know they won't release disapointments....*opens his armor for the impending DS arguements.*

I agree with the SNES fanboys. Though not as rabid as they, the SNES releses were some of my most favorites:
Drakkhen Final Fantasy Mystic Quest Final Fantasy III Final Fantasy IV Nobunaga's Ambition Chrono Trigger Legend of Mana Illusion of Gaia
Jest to get me list up here.

You are mistaken on a few of those. If you are talking about the Japanese ranks on your Final Fantasy then you only got one right, same for if your talking American.
Japanese: NES: FF, FFII, FFIII SNES: FFIV, FFV, FFVI PS: FFVII, FFVIII, FFIX PS2: FFX, FFX-2, FFXI
American: NES: FF=FF SNES: FFMQ=?, FFII=FFIV, FFIII=FFVI Rest are the same as Japan.
Also Legend of Mana was a PS release, the only other Mana game we got was releases on the SNES and was called Secret[/b] of Mana.

As far as I've seen no one owns anything anymore. It is up to the developers who gets the game. Most games of recent date have been on all platforms. It was rumored that Halo 3 mightr be on the PS# rather than X-Box Next. Will I buy whatever system it is on. Hell yeah, because I like Bungie. Capcom is making games for all three platforms as well as a lot of other companies. It isn't the system that I look at anymore, it is the developer. Capcom, Nintendo, Namco, and a whole list of others have proved themselves to me ever since the Nintendo was around. I really don't care what system it is on. Do I plan on owning one of each, eventually. Like Conscript said, games don't care the cost, the will achieve it somehow. The N64 was good for what it did. It was a sports heavy machine, the Sony Playstation offered so much more, so therefore it was in the top market. System is a useless word when talking about gaming anymore, because eventually it will be on one that you own.

This was definetely a hard choice. I have been a huge video game fan since the NES. I've owned most systems at one time or another, but I still love my PS2. It has some of the newer RPGs, and I can still play the old PS RPGs on it (like Xenogears). You can even get most of the old FF games on it, too. It may not be quite the same, but still fun!

The only Final Fantasy you currently can't play on the PS is the Japanese III. No one in America has seen it. As far as we know it does not exisit. But playing them on their original system's is always fun. Especially when you notice the typo's and mistakes.

I don't mean to turn this into a FF plug but I've always enjoyed FF Tactics for the original Playstation. The whole Idea of the "Job" system was great and I really enjoyed it ^_^
