This is perhaps the best Spin-Off I have ever read. Spun from a story-line in the Ultimate Fantastic Four where Reed tries out his portal to travel to other universes. There are two prequels that come out later this year; Ash vs. The Marvel Zombies, and Marvel Zombies: Dead Days.

Yep, this is very cool. Issue #2 of Marvel Zombies Vs. Army of Darkness should be shipping soon. Can't wait to see who the Howard the Duck zombie was eating!

...Ok, yeah. While the Marvel Zombies idea sounds incredibly, incredibly dumb to me, them running into Ash, on the other hand...
That could be intresting.

I have issue 1 of Marvel Zombies vs. The Army of Darkness thanks to stegon, so if you want to read it I can bring it over. And I will be getting the other issues. And the original series was actually really well done.

Yeah this story arc of marvel seemed to bomb... in a bad way. I'm more interested in the new story arc that is post civil war.
During the events of the Civil War the Hulk was sent into space because thats the easy way to deal with him. Well little did anyone on earth realize is that an alien race picked him up and used him to help conquer their home planet. After the world is severely, well lets say smashed, The hulk is returning to earth pissed (Big deal right?). In tow he has his new alien friends, an alien woman carrying his child, and advanced technology at his disposal. Now that the heroes of earth are banned back together after the Civil War, do they have the strength post war to defeat the alien threat or even infinitely strong Incredible Hulk?

If it bombed then why is there a couple more titles set to launch in the future? Like Marvel Zombies Infects DC?

Because they are going to finish the story that they started. However I guarantee that they are not going to have close to 100 issues like the civil war. It just doesn't have the fan base.

Like Marvel Zombies Infects DC? Don't get me wrong when I say this cause I'm a huge DC fan but... A good reason they will make a comic like that is because DC is desperate to sell comics. And a good way to do that is to put Marvel in it's title. Sorry to all you hard core DC fans.

...Can Superman even be INFECTED by the zombie thing? I mean, he's, well, Superman! How is his metabolism verses this kind of thing?

I don't know... I know that he has some immunity to common virus's. There have been comics where he's gotten sick and it was a big deal because Superman can't get sick. I'm not sure how the zombie threat started or spreads... so I couldn't answer that.

Well, then, Shaggy, I pose the question to you, as you seem to be the resident knowledgeable one on this zombie infestation. I know the Silver Surfer was involved in the original series; he didn't get infected, did he? How about any other alien races/ characters? Were they mostly just humans/mutants? And what was the infection vector, anyway? This all may drastically change the Man of Steel's chances in resisting it.

A rather belated reply, but here goes: the Silver Surfer didn't get infected, he got eaten! He was doing fine, holding off he zombie heroes until zombie Hulk bit his head off. Galactus got eaten too and the zombie heroes that ate him were imbued with the power cosmic which enabled them to leave Earth and search the cosmos for new food. This lineup consisted of Power Man, Spider-Man, Iron Man (half of him anyway), Hulk, Giant Man and Wolverine.
The six of them can currently be found in the pages of the Black Panther comic book series where they attack the Skrull homeworld of their universe. Coincidentally, Black Panther, Storm, the Thing and the Human Torch (comprising the new Fantastic Four) have just popped up there after a bit of alternate universe hopping.
Marvel Zombies 2, a new five-issue limited series begins in October. In this one the zombie Galacti return to Earth after 40 years in space where they find something waiting for them. (That's all the details Marvel has released.)
And there ya go!

The "virus" so to say was spread when Ash entered the universe bringing a zombie super-hero with him. It is stated in the series that is not a virus or supernatural in essence. It is scientific but Doom has not figured out why the bodies are transformed.
