Ok, I keep finding intresting news articles on the 'net, so I'm going to start linking them to this thread here, instead of scattering them to the wind. This thread also might give you some insights into things I find intresting, though I claim that I have no idea how I keep stumbling onto these things. I don't regularly troll CNN or anything. *shrug*
One last thing; what is the plural of 'News'? 'Newes'? 'Newsi'? Or if 'News' is the plural, what is the singular? Alternativly, I could be thinking about this too hard and 'news' is similar to 'ninja', in that there IS no plural.

The first of our stories involes moneky's and evolution, a topic that I seem to recall coming up earlier on the Temple. The basic gist of the article seems to be that Chimps have evolved futher the humans in the 6-7 million years since we seperated from our common ancestor.
This brings up some intresting points if this is a true conclusion. First, just beacuse something is 'futher evolved', doesn't nessessarly mean its 'better'. Also, just beacuse human's can think and reason, doesn't mean we are 'the top of the evolutionary train' or anything similar. This also, then, begs the question of if evolution is actually a solid line to be marking species against, if the farther along you are doesn't actually mean you're better off.
Thoughts?

Our second story is about Youtube, the internet hotspot leading all kinds people to make and say everything about everything. As you may or may not know, they are currently in a legal battle over Copywritten material being shown on the site. Something that has recently emerged is that Youtube is apparently planning to add a large scale filter to their software, allowing Copywrite holders to yank their material.
This, to my un-trained legal mind, has a few intresting cavat's. First, implementing a filter would probubly cut down on the material that's on the site, but it would ALSO officialy declare that there IS Copywritten material on the site, and how much the extent is. Everyone knows there is Copy Written material on the site, but how much of the site will be gutted, along with the userbase, if things are pulled? Also, what about things like AMV's, that contain some Copy Written material, but aren't the full things themselve? If this is some automated program, how will it tell between full Naruto episodes and AMV homages? And if it's NOT an automated program, how will they ever sift through the millions of files on the site?
