It has come to my attention that the 80's are coming back in force. TMNT has a new movie coming out, which doesn't look that bad at all. We also have Transformers on July 4th. There are a few others I can't think of right now. If you can add to this list, please do.
Second point: Who is going to see these movies with me? TMNT premiers on March 23rd, and Transformers premiers on July 4th.

I am iffy about if I want to go to the new TMNT movie, though I am ALL GO for Transformers.
As for the 80's, it would because the people who grew up in the 80's are getting older. We (well, I AM one, so first person veiw here...) are now in our 20's, where we can start infulencing things that we remember fondly from our childhood. We are also getting to the point where our generation has enough of a foothold that we have disposible income, so stuff we remember has alot of money in it. Heck, even Boomerang is starting to show stuff I remember.
Should be intresting what else we see... Where's that GI Joe movie, anyway?

Another point to go with Artemi's, those of us that grew up in the 80s are having kids and its alwas fun to expose your kid to something you had/watched when you were little.
I went through the video store the other day and saw four dvds of the Teddy Rupksin series. It took me a lot of will power (plus Adrian demanding a Thomas movie) not to rent all four. I don't know if you guys remember him, but i remember my grandfather went through absolute hell to find me the "talking teddy bear" for my fourth chirstmas. I recently saw something about it on I love the 80's. It made me wonder what happened to mine.

My grandfather bought me mine when I was 3, and it scared me when it started talking to me. As I got older it became one of my favorite toys. I think mine in a bag somewhere with all my old stuffed animals.

Out of curiousity I looked up Teddy Ruxpin. It was first intorduced in 1985 and apperently this thing was the precursor to Tickle Me Elmo Extreme in that it was impossible to find. I talked to my mom about it. She says it was my second Chirstmas that I got it not my forth. 1 and a half, three, whats the difference. She says it still scared the crap out of me. I guess I didn't like the thing untill the tv show came out in 1987. Snice 1985, four versions of Teddy Ruxpin have come out, the lastest by Backpack toys in 2005. Plus Teddy now has a website. I have also found a few Teddy Ruxpin on ebay. I really want to buy one but Adrian is only intrested in Thomas the Tank Engine so now I'm busy looking for old episodes of Shining Time Station.

Where our foul mouthed friend, George Carlin played the conductor. I loved that show growing up.

Amen to that... And Alec was infinitely better than the doofus they have doing the narration on the most recent tapes and DVDs.

You guys had Teddy Ruxpins when you were kids? Snicker, snicker, snicker. ;D
You know what I got when I was a kid? Rocks. Plain ol' rocks. Every once in a while, if I was good, I got a stick or maybe some dirt.
I kid. Excuse the ramblings of an old fart.
Let's see, memories of my long ago youth are hazy at best but I do remember having Lincoln Logs and a Six Million Dollar Man action figure. Oh yeah, and a Little House on the Prairie playset too! That was awesome! "Pa! Mary fell in the outhouse!"
Okay, okay! That last one I made up, but the Steve Austin (not the stupid wrestler) figure was sweet.

You think you're old? I remember when GI Joe was the only person in his unit. And I remember when he came out with felt hair and a beard.
You thought that you were old... sheesh!!!

I am old, dadburnit! And I do remember that old G.I. Joe figure! Shoot, remember when you could buy toy guns that looked real? Those were the friggin' days.
And remember how cool those very first Star Wars action figures were? How many of them were there originally? Ten or Twelve? Now every character you caught a fleeting glimpse of has his own damn figure!
Ramble, ramble, mutter, mutter...

And regarding the OP, I never had much interest in the TMNT and Shaggy, you know how I feel about hackmeister Bay, so no, I won't be seeing Transformers either.
