I am surprised this thread has not been brought up. Topic is simple, just post your best and worst gaming moments with regards to console and/or PC games...
Best moment (out of many): Standing on the bridge of the starship Voyager and hearing Kate Mulgrew's (Capt. Janeway's) own voice giving my character an order. ;D Sent goosebumps through my body
Worst moment (of many:( ): Losing a race in Need for Speed because my car hit the tiniest of piece of wall on the last corner
Yours?

Lemme see... The most recent best moment was winning the Stanley Cup (hockey) championship as the Ottawa Senators (in the game, a crappy team). The worst was losing in the first round as the New York Islanders (A significantly better team).

I appreciate the informing of a 'better' or 'worse' team in brackets ;D Otherwise I would have no clue why it was so bad...
Do I hear a muttering of 'What? Kensai doesn't know about THE Stanley Cup?'

This is difficult to truly do as I have hundreds of great gaming moments. This is also difficult to truly do as I have countless thousands of absolutely terrible gaming moments. So, I'll go with something recent to start off. I'm then quite likely to trade stories of good/bad moments as they are triggered by later posts from others.
Best Recent Gaming Moment:
Defeating my Zerg opponent on Starcraft by irradiating all of his overlords and throwing a mass attack that was aimed only at his hatcheries and hive. Any time that he would start creating another hatchery, I would throw another suicidal attack at it to destroy it. This eventually starved him of the ability to create anything (No remaining drones, and no ability to create them + no ability to create more units for attacks), thus leaving him the only option of attacking my base with his remaining units. He didn't even manage to penetrate my first fire-base.
Long story short, I couldn't take him out with a traditional attack, so I used kamikaze raids (and believe me... they were truly suicide against his defenses) and the science vessel's best ability to secure the game. For those of you that don't know, that means I took out their ability to sustain a population, and then destroyed their ability to create that very ability. Strategy.
Worst Recent Gaming Moment:
Having my Federation Ambassador class battleship be struck-down by a Klingon scout vessel. Damn that frickin' Klingon was dynamite. He would run circles around my firing arcs and come on attack-runs with his disruptor and torpedo blazing into my shields and hull.
I kicked his ass in the second round of our little fight .
What do you call 4 crows milling about at the side of a road?
At Ohayocon 2006, three matches into the Soul Calibur III tourney, my first opponent came over to my seat and congradulated me on my win. He said that most people he faced just tried to ring him out and relied on 'cheap' tricks and that I didn't do any of that to "flat out" beat him. He said that he was going to have to go home and practice while shaking my hand. This encounter demonstrated sportsmanship over a medium (fighting games) which I did not belive existed and I have endevored to reciprocate this value with my fellow competitors.
My worst moment involves Phantasy Star Online Episode III: *card related title here* and my historical luck with electronic dice rollers. To make a long story short, you roll in game and based on that roll you are allowed to due certain things. I never rolled well and thus was never allowed to do anything of note. Worst $50 I ever spent.
Honorable mentions goes to the first time I assaulted a base full of enimies in Halo and walked out with their flag and my experience with Final Fantasy Tactics in general.

"Damn you, Big Brother. Damn you." -Curulambe
"I was told our base was for the Black Man." - batman
Another great moment for me was playing Team Fortress. I was aware that my opponents only knew that the heavy weapons dude had the most weapons and that was about it, so I chose the scout.
Its the most hilarious thing hearing them shout, "What the hell was that!?!" as I ran past them and "Stop her dammit!!" ;D They did catch on finally, but those intial rounds were just so damn funny.
I know, its mean to take advantage of their lack of knowledge, but it was all in good fun - I did let them win after that

Hmm... This is a pretty good idea for a thread. I'm sure most of us have quite a list of moments to share...
One of my better moments is in Final Fantasy Tactics. I was playing a 5 Mediator SCC (basically a challenge where you use a single class in entire game. The game is not really designed with this in mind) and got stuck in an area where all the enemies had a height, range, and number advantage on me. After puzzling it out for a long while, I finally stumbled upon the Death Sentence trick, allowing me to eventually win.
Basically, it involves casting the mostly useless Death Sentence on yourself, causing that character to die in three turns. Generally, the computer does not attack a character with Death Sentence on them, because they are dead anyway, giving my characters a couple turns to work before they died. This isn't enough time to finish the level. So I realized that by equipping a certain armor, it would give me immunity to instant death abilities, including Death Sentence. So, boiled down, if I was careful about what I did and when, I could always have two or three characters attacking, while the others kept Death Sentence fresh at the end of the third turn. I eventually beat the stage, but I don't think I could have done it without stumbling on this trick.
Hmm... And a worst moment, eh? Lesse... Soul Caliber 3 is a good one, I think. At the same Ohayocon 2006 that Antaeus was talking about, the first round I went against a Zasalamel player which I just couldn't take. The problem here is that I know how to beat the character's various moves, but for whatever reason I'm just not fast enough to react in time. This led to a match where I was constantly a half-step behind, eventually leading to my defeat. I don't seem to have very good luck with these fighting game tourniments... *laugh*
I have many moments, both good and bad, that most of these guys can attest to. So let's do one of each for now.
Greatest moment: Playing FFVII: Dirge of Cerberus I just couldn't figure out how to beat the final boss. He just kept whipping around me so fast I couldn't hit him with any of my shots. Then I saw the juke box in the corner and I saw the pattern of when he slowed down and I could get off some quick shots. So I could buy more ammo and actually hit him, I also figured out how to predict each of his moves so I could avoid them. Let's I won a perfect battle the last time I fought him because I had a duh moment the fight before.
Worst moment: Playing anteaus.
If a Devil is one who dares, when others hold back, then I am happy to play the Devil in this Mystery, boy.
William, bitten by wolf, became the most powerful Lycan.
Brian, there's a message in my Alphabits. It says OOOOOOOOOO!
BEST: Busting butt on Star Fox 64 to set a high score of 1513.
WORST: Waking up the two days later to see that 7-year-old Matthew broke my score with 1525.
;D
That is just classic...
Best: Teaching my Dad how to play Tetris
Worst: Well, I've never been able to get anywhere near the highscore table since that day
Another one:
BEST: Playing Oblivion for the first time... by the gods, that is a stunning game
WORST: Graphics card overheated back to my 8MB Banshee video card... no more playing Oblivion (think of going from an XBox360 to a NES)

::Best:: Halo CE, XBox The level was the Silent Cartographer, set to Legendary (of course). Raphael and I (heheh, know where I'm going, yet?) were cruising around and we were back at the underground entrance, for the second time. I was relatively unused to the events as of yet, so I haphazardly blundered into a pair of rather pissed off Hunters. They proceded to attempt to kill my poor little Master Chief as though I had killed all their brothers and sisters (well, I suppose I had been offing Covenant like a madman...). I was shooting at them with my Assault Rifle, essentially doing nothing but making them madder. I ran around for a whole minute (which feels like an eternity against one Hunter...), trying to kill one or the other. Suddenly, one of them raises up his arm as I rush by (backwards, mind you, so I got to see the whole thing) and brings down his huge shield arm down on his brother!
At this point, I paused the game and rolled over on the floor laughing. Raphael promptly looked at me and told me he had watched the whole thing from a safe distance. I couldn't be upset for not having back-up, though, I was too busy laughing. Then, he looks at me and says, "I give you new Indian name. Instead of Dances With Wolves, you will be Dances With Hunters." Accepting my new mantle, I recovered my controller and we promptly kicked some royal Hunter ass.
::Worst:: Tales of Destiny 2, PS I was fighting Shizel (for those who don't know, that's the[/i] boss fight of the game) and I beat her. She's a generally interesting fight with weaknesses, resistances, and some 5,000,000hp (I don't care what the FAQs say, that's what I saw when I Lens her). Ten minutes go by and I'm feeling pretty good. I beat Shizel and now I can stop... the... Suddenly, the most horrible words cross the screen and I realize I'm going to have to take down Neried, god of Celestia, in order to win this fight. I use a Lens. 15,000,000 hp!! I groan, but continue about whooping on the god. Everthing is going well and continue to do so for about twenty minutes. I Lens on him again, figuring he's got to be almost dead. It says tweve thousand and change. Cool, he's about to...
O.
M..
F...
G....!
The top of my screen fills up with this humongously long name for an attack. Then, I get hit. Each character takes eight hits. Each hit deals 2500 damage. Next thing I know, I'm looking at the words, "Entire party defeated" flashing happily at me. Damn you, Nereid. Consequently, I spent the next eight hours thrashing Shizel and being stomped by Neried. Repeatedly.
I wholeheartedly recommend anyone pick up Tales of Destiny 2, mind you. It is a solid game with a great world(s), solid characters, and one helf of a legendary pirate! Just, when you get to the end, watch out for huge-assed attacks...
The only thing I can think of at the moment was when I was playing a Football video game at one of my friend's birthday party. I was playing Joey Diver who was playing as Denver, and I was playing as Green Bay. He came up for a tackle, and I pushed the button that made me spin to dodge him. May sound routine right, well, I pushed the button without realizing I did until the game played an instant reply. My jaw could have fallen off if I was undead.
Uh...let me think...........................................................my worst moment on a game was when I lost to the 1st boss in "Legend of Zelda:Majora's Mask" (sorry I'm still sad talking about and rembering it) My best was when I beated Ganon and Ganondorf in "Legend of Zelda: Orcarina of Time and Majora's Mask" ;D
