She smiles sadisticly at Drevin. "You miss understood me. I dispise forced salvery with a passion. But I love what I get to do to those who commit such a crime." She throws her cloak over her shoulders and heads out the door.
Watching Seiko, Drevin, and Los wander out from the back room, Cheska grabbed Trillian's arm as the Grassrunner woman walked out. She pulled her close, looking her in the eye as she spoke. "I know you are searching for your husband, but be careful, girl. This might have nothing to do with him..."
Trillian gave her a cool look, then turned her head to the side with a sniff. "I know, Cheska. But..." She sighed, slowly petting Cheris. She looked back to the Crawler woman, a small smile on her lips. "Thank you. I will be careful."
She turned and walked off at a brisk pace, following the others. Cheska was left leaning against the wall with a sigh.
--------
The day finds you walking up the narrow pass up into the mountains. The area is covered in a bushy grassland, with a handful of trees scattered about. There is a cool breeze in the air, with the sharp smell of winter that tells you that the seasons move quicker up in these lonely hills.
Cheris was out, scouting the trail ahead, the pale, bluish-tinted tail darting out from bush to grass on the trail ahead. Trillian was idly checking her pistol, examining a pale green crystal the she had extracted out of the bottom of the handle. She held it up to the light, crystalline shafts of light scattering off of it.
Los was walking in a dark mood, hands grasping themselves behind his back, as he marched up the path. He also looked to be in thought, though he was much harder to read then your other companions. He still had that rock from earlier, and had yet to mention what he had learned from it...
Seiko took the rear of the group, cautiously watching their backs every so often yet the confindence that if something did try to attack their rear, they would be attacking her, and that would be their opponet's biggest mistake.
After a while she began to get bored however. I had forgotten how long it takes to walk someplace. Eiya! I hope something attacks, that or we get there soon.
Snapping the crystal back into the chamber with a deft 'click', Trillian pushed the hair back from her eyes with one hand, looking out over the path. Seeing Cheris looking expectantly her direction, she headed over to the little creature, curious to see what was wrong...
Meanwhile, Los looked up from his silent musings, looking the assembled group over. Noting Seiko in the back, he started back on the line of thought that he had when he first saw the woman. Shaking his head, he slowed his pace a little, letting her catch up to him.
"Excuse me, miss, but I find myself confused with you. You are not a Fae, that much is certain. And I have enough experience with my fellow Shaman to know that you are not a Earth Shaman, what ever your look. You would not happen to be a Dragon Clan member, would you? My studies keep running into an impasse when I try to look into them..."

Drevin was walking in the center of the group, when he started to slow down, until he came to a higher patch of grass. He then lied down and started to move as silently as he could towards a point in the grass.

Seiko looks at Los momentarily in silence. She ponders how much of the truth she should tell him.
"You are correct young sir. I am not a Fae nor am I a Shaman. I am not of the Dragon Clans either." She looked forward again. Leaving her answer there, waiting to see if his curiosity would take the conversation any further.
Los looked at her, a little confused. He was not a major history buff, but thought he was intelligent enough. This woman, however, did not match up with anything that he really knew of. Unless… “You… are you a Guardian, perhaps? My teacher said she had traveled with a Guardian when she was younger, but you really don’t run into many out here on the Western Fringe…”
She smiles. "Very good." She turns and looks at him. "Yes I am a Guardian, and we are rare just about everywhere now." She then stops for a moment, "If you don't mind however, don't tell any one." She smiles again devilishly. "While there are many like you who can tell that I am not a Fae for whatever reason, however there are also those who cannot. I find that it is always fun to surprise them." She cracks her knuckles loudly. "Especially opponents."

Drevin slowly got up, as quietly as he could, and then, without answer, moved his hand to his back, took out his boomerang, and threw it forward in a question of seconds.
Hearing the crack of a pistol going off farther up the path, you look up to see Trillian stumble backwards as a red, mean looking gelationous creature slips out from the bushes. To your left, you see a second creature come out, clearly intent on dealing with you personally...

Combat, folks. I need 5 things from you, here.
A discrtription of what you are doing.
What range you want to be in. There are 4 of them. Melee (range: 0), short (range: 1), medium (range:2), and long (range:3).
Your initive. To find it, it is 1d20 + Dex Mod + anything else that increases it.
Your attack roll, if you are attacking. That is 1d20+Base Attack Bonus+ Close/Ranged attack+ attack skills. If you get a critical hit (normally a 20 on the d20, but your particular weapon might change that), then mention it here.
And, if you attacked, your damage rolls. That is (weapon damage) + (weapon stat, like Dex or Str) + any other damage increase.
OCC: I hate everything ------------------------------------------------------------------ Seiko is for some unknown reason is slow to respond to the appearence of their foes. Whether she was caught be surprize or she was caclulating what to do or maybe just do give her foes a false sense of security is unknown, but once she does move she is quick to do so. She spreads her wings out to their full length and leaps into the air rising high she does a full summersault in the air as she comes down bringing the full force of her leg into the creature nearest her. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- And now for my sucky rolls Intiative: 1+0+0=1 woo whoo Attack: 7+4+6+3=20 better Damage: 1+2=3 yep, I suck.
During the confusion, the creature that is on Trillian attacks one more time as she is rolling up from the ground. It slides forward, attempting to slam into her with its body. She dives to the side at the last moment, letting the creature slide past.
Drevin lines up his attack, throwing his boomerang as he hears the commotion start on the path. His slime simply fails to realize he is there, and boomerang deftly strikes the back of the creature, skimming its gel-like flesh and returning to his hand.
Rolling up from her wild tumble, Trillian quickly lines up her shot, thumbing the trigger on her pistol. With a flash of bright green light, the slime recoils as the shot runs into it, causing it to slide backwards a little.
Feeling the boomerang skim its flesh, the slime by Drevin turns, causing its eyes to simply slide to his side to glare at him. It attacks, throwing its weight forward. In its haste, though, it misjudges the distances involved, and misses completely. Meanwhile, back at the path, the third of the slimes finishes its charge, slamming directly into Seiko’s side, catching her unaware during the confusion.
Los spins as the slime comes out of the bushes near him, throwing up a wave of energy instinctively around himself. Noticing that he was not the one being attacked, though, he twisted his hands in a quick incantation, then thrusting his hand out. A thin line of black energy erupted from his hand, curling around the slime and slicing into it.
Rolling up from the force of the unexpected charge, Seiko took to the air. Seeing the coil of black energy twisting away from her target, she smiled as she figured out what she was going to do. With a deft flip, she directs her weight downward, slamming into the slime with a devastating axe kick. The creature splatters apart, the force of the two attacks destroying it. --- Trillian: Init: 10+2=12, Attack: 11+4=15, Dmg: 1+2=3 Los: Init: 7+1=8, Caster check (DC13): 9+1+2+2: 14, Attack: 4+2+2(-2)=10, Dmg: 3 x1.5: 4 Red Slime 1: Init: 10+0= 10, Attack: 6+1: 7, Dmg: 2+1=3 Red Slime 2: Init: 16+0=16, Atk: 9+1=10, Dmg: 3+1=4 Red Slime 3: Init: 10+0=10, Atk: 14+1=15, Dmg: 3+1=4
Red Slime 1 (Drevin) takes 5 damage. Regenerates 1. Red Slime 2 (Trillian) takes 3 damage, regenerates 1. Red Slime 3 takes 4 Dark. It also takes 3 physical. It dies. Seiko takes 4 damage, which is reduced to 2 by armor.

Drevin grabs the boomerang and puts it on his back again, while he grabs his staff with his free hand. Entering a battle stance, he elongates his arm, and delivers an attack at the slime.
Seiko mutters something under her breath disgusted by the creature messy death. She kicks the slime off her before turning to see any other oppents. Seeing one on the other side of Trillian she dashing into a quick charge, dropping her staff and drawing her sword. As she comes apon Trillian she leaps up into the air once more speading her wings and half jumps, half flies over her. She raises her blade hign and brings it down on the other creature as she lands before it. ----------------------------------------------------------------- ok these rolls arent nearly as bad but we will see
Deftly switching weapons, Drevin lashes out with his staff, attempting to end the fight before it went any further. The slime had more then enough time to note what he was doing, and slipped to the side at the last moment.
Trillian looked surprised when the creature she had shot at did not go down. She was even more surprised when it dashed at her quickly, attempting to slam into her. It was stopped, however, by an angry Manou leaping into the middle of the attack, as the slime bounced off of the glowing aura of energy Cheris was enveloped by.
The slime attacking Drevin rushed in for an attack, sliding past grass and stones to take advantage of the opening it had. It did not get far, though, as a blast of pale blue light shot through the center of the creature, dissipating the two glaring eyes. Los stepped out from the bushes, his thin silver ring still glowing slightly.
Coming in from high, Seiko twisted in the air, using her wings to spin around Cheris and land next to the slime. Her sword came down hard, slicing the thing in two, though managing to make a bit less of a mess this time.
--- Slime 2: Initiative: 15, Attack: 15, Dmg: 3. Cheris had spent last turn waiting for the slime to attack Trillian again. Los: Initiative: 12, Attack: 13, Dmg: 3 Slime 2: Initiative: 10, though it died so it does not really matter.
Cheris' Energy Field: takes 3 damage, which is not enough to collapse it. Slime 2: Takes 6 physical damage. It dies. Slime 1: Takes 3 energy damage. It dies.
Seiko looks at her blade and frowns. She walks over to a grassy patch and begins wiping her blade clean. "While I do enjoy the heat of battle," She inspects her blade and continues cleaning it on the grass. "I wouldn't mind never seeing these... things agian" She inspects the blade oce more and then sheaths it in her belt. "They make a mess." She turns and looks at her current comrades.
Trillian looked around as the group re-assembled, gently petting Cheris. She started up the path, turning off into the grass after a few paces. She waved over her shoulder as she called back to the others. "I think Cheris found the caves that we are looking for. Come on."
Pushing your way through the long grass and bushes, you notice quickly enough that the a faint trail starts off after a short distance. Following the trail, you end up at a large cave entrance that looks much cleaner then it should for being this far out in the wilderness...
Seiko inspects the ground for any signs of recent activity. She let some of the dirt sift between her fingers. She smiles and adjusts her cloak on her shoulders. She then stands staight and faces the others.
"Any preprations I suggest we make now." ---------------------------------------------------------------- How would I go about using my medical skill to heal myself?
Without a word, Los ducks into the long grass, quickly disappearing from sight. Trillian raises and eyebrow, but says nothing about it. Looking over the others, she digs in her bag for a moment, the pulls out a cloth wrapped bundle. Unwrapping it, she grabs a small cake of bread for Cheris while taking a thin strip of dried meat for herself. She then offers it to the others.
“Well, looks like we are here. Anyone sneaky enough take point?”
It is at this point Los comes back, holding a chunk of thick wood with a large ball of dried grasses tied to the end. He offered it to the others, sniffing off Trillian’s offer of food. ------ Celest, give me a 1d20 + Wis + Healing Skill roll. For each 5 you get, you can regain 1 Hp. Of note is Los, however, who can heal up to 10 Hp at a time, though he can only do that three times a day.
