Alright. There has been dissent recently on the issue of post counts. I just want to know the general opinion on the forum.\
My rationale for the current posting system is that it defeats the idea of the board to increase your rank through things that have no pertinence to the mission of the Temple and the Worldcage in general. Thus, only creative threads are the only ones that produce post counts (The Celestial Maproom and the Antechambers of Ofelia's Study).

as I see absolutely nothing wrong with the way it is. Someone who is paying too much attention to their post count is likely not paying attention to what counts at all here. If they want to look at five stars so much, then they can apply to become an Adjudicator.

I have to agree. This Board is about RPing and its best friend, creativity. Thus, they should be represented.
Not like post counts are important enough to worry about, at any rate... It is not like they give you anything...

It makes no difference to me. If I have something to say, I will say it... those of you who know me already, will already know that. ;D
I have been part of boards ranging from being primarily a lurker to one in which I helped in admin and reached over 7000 posts. It doesn't matter. What matters, as Eunhathes says, is the creativity. It is all about the imagination and stretching it out.
Leave it alone... it is YOUR place and the system works well enough.

i dont see any problem with the way it is, but in an attempt to make everyone happy, maybe two post counts? I dont know if it is possible, but even still it is your site eunhathes, do as you please.

...but even still it is your site eunhathes, do as you please. Ok. This is a misconception I wish to rectify right now. I hold the domain names. I Admin the Temple and webMaster the Worldcage. This does not mean that they are mine. Without you guys, it is me blowing hot steam out my ass. You are as much audience as authors, and I expect you all to participate as such. I know many of you recently have been putting forth this "it's your site" mentality. Well, please stop. I cannot pull this off without the assistance and postage from you all. In any case, the post counts are staying the way they are right now. I think it implies the feel of the BBS as it right well should.

I do request that the post counts of all members gets recounted. Because I can tell you I should not have almost 150 posts.

If a post gets deleted, do you retain your post #? Or does it go down if it was a post that gave you +1 to begin with?

the post stays in your count (if counted to begin with) until the time comes where either the forum goes through an upgrade... or your posts get recounted by the administration. Deleted posts will also disappear from the "last X posts by this member" and "last X posts of this forum" areas.

Unless you delete it yourself. Then the post count goes down. Try it sometime.

I don't find anything wrong with the post count method... but I'm kinda curious about why posts in any of the debates don't count. Surely if we are debating correctly, then we are being intelligent. And I always feel that intelligence should be rewarded. Not a big deal... just me being curious.

but I must concur with RS. Debate is a creative activity, and thus should be included in the post count. I could go on to explain why debate is a creative activity, but I'll not bother unless Eunhathes disagrees. Then we'll debate about it... hahaha. Okay enough with lame puns....
I would like the administration to take a look at my post on this topic in the staff forum.

dude i don't see why someone is stressing over the fact that some posts are counted and some are not. It doesn't matter to me in the first place. The point is that you voice your opinion and be heard, not to have the most post counts.

Wow... who said anyone was stressing over it? I was just curious. Can I help it if I like to see my number of posts grow? I was just making an observation. Like I said in my earlier post, its not a big deal.

but it isn't truly my decision about it though. If your job is news, then I see no reason you shouldn't get a post count for it....
I'll bring that up in The Warroom with the rest of the executive staff when I next get the chance. That's the place where the rules are made and erratad and replaced and removed and whatnot. From what you've told me it's right up your alley. I'll also see what I can do about getting you a clearance to view that board. Call it a "Press Pass" of sorts.

Heard arguments. Mulled it over. Decided.
Post counts allowed in HoS.
It just makes sense with the arguments you all have given me. Other post counts will remain the same. Now all I have to do is count out the posts in the HoS so we can alter the PCs to reflect the new additions.

It's my job XD. eh, post counts are post counts. I both agree and disagree with James' decision, but since he decided already, I'll refrain from posting them. Wow...this post was totally worthless XD.

It is only worthless beacuse you did not contribute anything. If you feel strongly one way or the other, then say something. I mean, that IS what this place is for...
Oh! I want to get post counts for banning people! *laugh*
...ignore that...

funni!
I feel the post count should be given sparingly for participation on the board. Shinateku, I understand that your BBS comes first to you, thus I don't expect you to post much here. In addition, I have taken back over the control of the site maintenance for a bit. You have a lot of work on your hands. Also, your BBS doesn't work for me. I use Mozilla, so mebbe is the prollem? meh =/
BTW: artemi, you're banned. </asshole>

>.> <.< Ok, this post was off topic (topic being about post counts) so I'll expect a demerit or something XD
"Demerit": Take it to the Warrom or PM's or something...
