A Well-Known Man throughout the town of Moltar, named Jack Coleman who has called for a meeting of his friends and others who happen to pass by. He raises his arms issuing for silence and the room is quite like a mouse as if by a spell.
"Many of you do not know that creatures of the night have been attacking our town and cities nearby. I have sensed a growing threat coming to our village and I believe if we do not act now...We will be unprepared. When the time strikes, so I would like to know who of you are willing to help me investigate please say now," Jack says and after that it is quite for several minutes.
"I will," murmurs teenager from the back, just loud enough for most of Jack's friends to hear.
As Jack looked, the teenager turned out to be the son of his best friend: Dylan Hikary. He's dressed in a black trench coat over a tight black turtle and black jeans.
"Anyone else,?" he says, with a bit of hope. That others will feel content to follow

An attractive young woman named Colleen Fisher, a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps rose to her feet and said. "I'll help where I can."
Colleen's voice wasn't as rough as those who didn't know her were expecting it to be. Though she was small, she was also strong, agile and someone you would never want to meet in a dark alley and be in front of her pistol. "Just let me know what you want me to do."

"We will be sending a select group in a week to scout, but in that time all who'll sign up will train here for the time being," John Grapez as he scrawled down notes on a long scroll of parchment. Then looking at the women again and said, "it's a good thing you're a marine because if you go through my training this week... Well let's say you'll be exhausted every night to the point that you may even collapse before you even reach your house."

Looking away from the woman, he turns back to the crowd and awaits as more come forward.

As the last approaches, Jack lets the crowd depart to their homes. "Those who have signed the parchment, will be expected to report here again at 5: a.m. tomorrow," Jack announced as he left the stage and walked to his house.

Colleen simply nodded and exited the meeting place to return home and gather not only her gear, but her thoughts as well.
Let's use some of that Marine training... shall we?

.....5 am..... John sits on his porch, thinking of the boy that challenged him to a duel the night before. Jack is starting to begin packing the running packs with huge rocks as some of the early bird recruits are beginning to pour in as the light of the sun peaks over the horizon shyly.

Colleen approached Jack's house looking well rested. She was in a simple camoflage shirt and pants with tan marching boots on her feet. On her left hip was her side arm, the traditional nine milimeter pistrol issued to her by the Marines. If anything, it looked like she was ready to go on patrol.
"So, do you have anything new you would like to tell us?" Her question and tone were both innocent as she took her seat on the porch of the house.

Jack turned to Coleen looking ocassionally at a parchment. Rolling up the parchment, Jack says" Well Coleen, we going to be hiking most of the day with backpacks loaded with rocks as John will be teaching sword fighting. He'll teach beginners, but trust me when I say,' he won't be going too easy on any beginner."

Colleen simply shrugged at the comment. "Backpacking... no problem. As for the swordfighting... I'll be one of those beginners and he'll just remind me of my drill sargents."
The young marine chuckled as the comment and waited for something else to happen.

"Sure, sure... you're cocky now, but we'll see. You see all these recruits we got..... Well, let's say some are going to sleep in when the morning comes," Jack says looking over the twenty- some already there and how there'd be even less by tomorrow.

Colleen couldn't help but wonder why Jack was warning her so ademently when she'd been through combat and carried a lot of weight on her back.
"I wouldn't call myself cocky... more like experienced in matters of combat and backpacking." Her tone was calm and controlled as was the normal tone of her voice... unless she was shouting orders.

"Well don't let that experience get to you because then you become: arrogant' prideful, cocky and radical with your risk taking... Trust me, I would know- it happened to me in my younger years. I put my friends danger thinking I could do it, buut I was wrong. My best friend died that day because I was reckless and cocky. Don't let it happen to you, because it can mean killing those you love and cherish the most," Jack warned, his eyes becoming a little blurry.

The conversation with Jack awoke an old memory in the young Marine. Colleen had been on her first assignment as an officer and the enemy forces had launched an attack against her group. One of her closest friends had been killed in the attack.
With nothing to say, Colleen simply stayed where she was and waited for something to begin or happen.

Dashing the tear that had slipped down his cheek, Jack heaved a deep sigh and shook loose his hair. "Now will you be coming with me for a ten hour jog or sword fight with John,?" Jack asked, showing no sign of sadness.

Colleen had to think about how much weight she could handle. It had been a while since she had to do anything like this.
After a moment of guesses and thinking, she picked up a backpack and put it on her shoulders. "This should be good. Where to?"

"Oh take a look and find the hardest running terrain," Jack laughed at his own private joke.
OoC: If you look around: behind John Grapez's house you'll see a long stretch of forest, look west or north of that and you'll see the beginning of a mountain range and east a peaceful river with a long sturdy bridge.

The first thing Colleen did after Jack left to find the 'hardest running route' was look around at her surroundings, taking in every detail.
If I had to guess... I'd say we'll be running through either the foothills or the forest.
Either way, she was ready for it. Now all she had to do was wait a little while longer for Jack to return.
