The children take some comfort in Fenella's words, however, they keep their eyes fixed on the spot where the sound of the horses were coming from.
About a moment after Fenella spoke to the men, they emerged from the thick undergrowth. One man with a silver cape on his back road forward and spoke to the party. "I am Commander Larencas of the Kingdom of Hylena. We were not intending to surprise you, we saw you campfire and heard your voices, one of them I thought I knew." He glanced around the camp, his eyes settled on Trialia. "Lady Trialia, I has been a long time."
"It has Commander." The Flemon gave the human Commander a nod of respect, which he returned. "These are my companions, "Fenella, priestess of the Society, and Evan, a blacksmith of Woodroot."
The man gave each party member a nod of respect then continued as his gaze met the two children. "These two appear injured. Our city is not far from here, do you wish to come with us?"

Fenella smiles and nodds at the children. "Yes, they were quite bad when we found them. Their village was attacked, which I assume you knew. You will find that they are quite well now and their injuries will be fully healed by morning."
She smiles and walks over to the two children. "As for joining you to your city, we must continue on our most important mission, but I cannot speak for our companions. If it is on our way, maybe a quick stop for supplies. Eitherway, the children should go with you, they will be safer there."
The human Commander spoke after Fenella had explained the situation, "I understand, we will take the children with us to the capital." After the children had reached the horses and had been helped onto two of them, the commander spoke again, "If your quest takes you to the northern portion of the Swaying Sea, you will likely pass the capital." He then turned his horse toward the coast, "Good luck to you." The riders then rode into the night, leaving the party alone once more.
Fenella takes some time to wander around the small camp site, looking for any plants that might be useful to her and carefuly taking cuttings. She then turns to the rest of the party.
"We should get going again soon. I suspect that there may still be some dark elves in the area. We will be safer if we keep moving."
Trialia nodded in agreement with her companion. "If I am correct the village is within an hour from here." The Flemon woman began to make the cooking supplies and toss the small sticks and larger logs that were to be their firewood in random directions.
In a short time, the fire was the only sign of the party that remained.
After the fire had been extinguished completely, the party began to move out.
After what seemed like a short time to the travelers, they reached an area where the forest began to thin, soon, a large iron gate could be seen looming in front of them. The gate was open wide as if welcoming the group with open arms.
Trialia turned to the other party members and inquired, "Shall we?"
The group entered the city and found the streets full of people and activity. Merchants were calling out so many products and prices that it was hard to understand some of them.
Trialia walked in the lead with Fenella and Evan not too far behind her. "Let us find a place to stay for at least long enough to replenish our supplies and rest for a few hours." The Flemon warrior proposed as the group continued down the street.
(OOC:) I'm so sorry that this took so long. So much has been happening recently that this just kind of got lost in the shuffle.
The merchant that Fenella was speaking to turned to her and replied, "If you go right up the street here, it will take you straight to the village green. In the center of the field is the Temple." The merchant then returned to his merchandise which consisted mainly of apples and grapes.
Trialia started to walk down the slightly crowded street toward the temple, expecting the rest of the party to follow.
The group arrived at the temple which was rather large, but had the typical structure that everyone was used to.
As the party entered, they saw the place was strangely empty, not even the priests were praying at the alter. Even stranger still, particularly to Fenella, all the torches and lamps were not lit, causing the temple to be almost dark as night. The priestess knew that those lamps were always supposed to be lit.
Trialia kept her hand on the hilt of her sword and said to Evan and Fenella, "I do not like it... it is too quiet here. There should at least be priests here at this hour." The Flemon woman started to walk forward, her eyes darted around the room, watching for anything to emerge from the shadow.
Fenella lowers her hood as she gazes around the room. “The lamps are sacred to the temple. They light the way to all things. It is against doctrine that they go out,” she speaks softly, but loud enough for her companions to hear. Bringing her staff in front of her, she raises it slightly with both hands and recites a short prayer.
I call upon the Pale Moon’s Light In you name, give us sight
She taps her staff once on the ground. As the soft tap echoes in the empty hall the Largest flower at the top of her staff glows brightly, shedding a soft light around the room.
Trialia nodded in agreement at Fenella's order to leave. As the group turned to leave however, the torches and lamps sprang to life, filling the temple with light.
"I don't think you'll be going anywhere." Said a dark voice. Now around the room were about two dozen figures in black robes. "Don't bother calling for help, a spell has been placed around the temple to make it sound proof."
Trialia pulled her sword half way out of the scabbard and fixed her red eyes on the figure that had spoke.
The circle of figures started to close in, pulling swords as they did. "I suppose this is it." The same figure said in a mocking tone as the group drew closer to the party.
(OOC:) Please post your character's initial reactions. Please don't kill all the figures right away, you won't be able to.
Evan pulls two long, slender swords from their scabbards and sets them on the floor. Then takes off his pack(which is quite large) and grabs two unlabeled bottles. "Aw...My toad oil," Evan mutters to himself as he pours the oil along the blade of both swords(but stopping half a foot from the hilt.)
Evan rummages through his pack and grabs a knife and a small, flat stone. He strikes the rock and sparks fly onto the blades and catch in a blaze as he places his tools back in his pack. He stands up and hurls the massive pack into the opposing threats.
As the pack his in the air a deadly array of knifes and swords are thrown out as it spirals, Evan grabs his two swords from the ground and gets ready to slaughter these men.
p.s.he is smiling through this and he is excited to finally be able to kick ass.
Some of the men around the party dropped to the floor as the knives hit them in various places. Cries of pain and agony filled the holy site as the men fall.
Trialia took a step closer to Fennella, "I'm sorry, holy one. It seems we have no choice but to fight on sacred ground."
The leader of the enemies was still on his feet, and actually laughing as if he found the strike by Evan amusing. "You think THAT will stop us Eagleman? We don't fear fire!" With that, the soldiers in black charged the party, warcries echoed through the room as they advanced swinging their swords wildly.
Fenella raises her staff again to its highest point and again chants.
I call upon the Holy Light Show us now your awesome might Raise the wall of Holy Flame Holy Fire be thy bane!
She brings the staff down sharply to the ground. The crack of wood hitting stone echoes the room as a large explosion of light grows quickly from the end of the staff and engulfs the small group. The blinding light pushes out ward with great force, stunning the attackers and knocking a few to the ground. The light dissipates as it reaches to corners of the room, revealing a ring of white holy fire surrounding Fenella and her comrades.
“I am Fenella of the Pale Moon. Apprentice to the High Priestess Attacking me in a holy place, ha! You might as well have attacked the High Priestess herself. I assure you, as long as I stand, my friends will not fall And as long as I stand on sacred stone, nor shall I!”
