Halo extinguished his zippo and folded the note up, placing it lovingly inside his pocket. Turning round and navigating his way out, Halo emerged back in the grand foyers the party had been at only a night ago. The Toreador quickly, quietly, and directly made his way out of the building. Once outside, he clambered to his car and entered it. Once inside, he pulled out his phone and dialed 465-2395. The phone rang on the other end. Halo started the engine and waited for an answer.
"We'll I don't know. Normally I just close up after 4am." He looks at his watch and grins. "Well it's closing time now." He grins at Lucine. "So then can I walk you to your car?" He asks.
The phone rings three times. Then a voice answers "Who is this?" very clipped and very annoid sounding.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Lucine gives him a sly smile. "Actually I dont have one. Gas prices are too high and walking is good exercise. But I should head back to my place. It's quite a walk but you're welcome to join me." She takes the store ba with the boots inside and heads towards the door. She looks over her shoulder. "By the way, my name's Lucine."
The Toreador heard the question, and replied as simply. "Halo. I have a question." She waited for the person on the other end to acknowledge that before he asked his question. After all, it sounded like she was doing something and might have unfriendly ears listening in.
Lucine could tell that the beach bum guy was thinking very hard on as whether or not he wanted to do this. "Well I really want to, but my girl might have a problem." He thought about it again and shuddered. "yeah She might have a big problem with it." He smiled kinda sadly, like he just missed buying that perfect car.
Kiki answered gruffly "ask you damned question. And hurry up I am kind of busy." Halo hears and ofmp on the other end of the phone, but it does not sound like it is coming from Kiki.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Lucine kept a smile on her face, though inside her mind she was slightly disappointed. Damn, he might have proved useful. "Don't worry to much about it. I can take care of myself. I'll see ya around." She flashes her teeth in a smile and walks out the door.
Halo heard the tension in the air. He knew, without hesitation, what was needed. "Am I allowed to hire help?" His simple question was worded so Kiki would not have to think about it too hard. After all, he didn't want to know exactly what she was up to and how well she could manage multitasking like this.
It is about a half an hour from dawn as you leave the store, Lucine.
kiki's phone grunts again and then Kiki answers "Hai. You can higher anyone that you see fit. But I will need to check them out as soon as you can after your emergancies are over. Call me and I will tell you where to meet up." Kiki didn't wait for an answer. She hung up.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
The silence of the speaker came through loud and clear to Halo. Closing his phone, he simply breathed into the still air, "Understood." He slid the piece of plastic back into its usual pocket in his bomber jacket, briefly caressing the weapon it also concealed. Halo was grateful for every night he failed to need it. Giving thanks to the enveloping night air, Halo turned his car engine on and slipped the gear box into drive. Finding his way into the quickly building early morning traffic, Halo turned to the west, towards the Thrid Ward, and to his apartment. Once there, he looked at the clock on the dashboard. Nodding silently, he gathered his three bags from behind him, locked the car, and pushed his way into his apartment.
The bags rolled off of his shoulder, illuminated in the dim computer light in the front room. Long ago, he had covered the windows with heavy winter blankets. Behind the facade of a venetian blind was a quarter inch, sixteen count woven blanket. Imported from Russia itself, they depicted nothing but a blue and green geometric motif, hailing from the final, high society days of the Czars. Right now, however, he didn't care. Halo was tired from a night of fast paced running. He stalked over to his futon, stripping his shirt and sunglasses from his person as he went. They landed harmlessly on the sofa-bed with a muffled thump. He passed the kitchen on his right, and his drawing room on his left. Finally, the bathroom marked the end of the hall, and the final door he crossed past was the door to his own haven: his bedroom. As he strode in, his shins met with the frame of the massive king sized bed. Sighing loudly, he fell and landed face first onto the matress covered with navy sheets wrinkled about. There he laned, so there he would lay. At least, until compulsion propelled him again...
Lucine steps to to curb and looks both ways. At the first sign of a cab she throws up her hand to signal it. She waits for a moment as on pulls up in front of her. As one pulls up she opens the door. And slides into the backseat. "How fast can you get me to the south eastern part of town?"
The cab driver told lucia that she could get her their as fast as 15 mins. When she gets home its nearly sun up.
The next few days are relitively uneventful. Their are a few scruffs that Halo has to handle but nothing that is too serious. The clubs are busy but nothing that is like the party that Shock through or the prince. The gallery that the prince had was open every night with different exibit on every night. The only piece that was the same is a peice that was done of the prince in what looks like three different lights.
((ooc: give an overview of what your charactor is doing.))
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Making his way through the week, it felt just like any other he had lived through. Work your head off, receive little recognition, go home lonely anyway. It had been hard since he had died, however he had found a niche. Halo loved his job; it was an excuse to keep from being dead. His macabre purpose drove him to excel at it. Without being Constable, the Toreador believed he would have ended his unlife long ago.
He made it a point to stop in and listen to Cronus Rising at least once a week. This week seemed slower, so he stopped a second time. His band played equally well without him. Shock even seemed to be teaching them some new songs. That was good. They might break the big time soon. Halo smiled at the thought, wondering what Shock would do then.
Finally, Halo took the time to track down the Kindred he had hired. He had not seen the man since that night in the bar. Contacting a Nos, he request that he be found. The Nos, and old acquaintance by the name of 'Crowley', simply grunted in affirmation and disappeared in the sewers. Halo knew the drill; Crowley would resurface when least expected and deliver exactly what was asked for. That was why Halo liked him.
The week, for all of its bustle, seemed to pale for Halo in comparison to others. At his home, just before sunrise, he watched the fan on his ceiling spin on in quiet boredom, always spinning, spinning for what? It would never know. Halo felt like that. A vampire in a rut. Almost like nothing would ever change. "Regimes rise and fall, but life is the same for us," Halo quoted Elina, his sire. She had been right, after all. Now with this new Prince, nothing seemed to differ in the slightest. The Toreador knew the sun was rising; his eyes were heavy. Each blade on the fan became another person he had lost; Mom, dad, Carolyn, Elina, other men, women, all faces indelibly marred upon the Toreador's perfect memory. Without so much as a fight, Halo slipped into sleep in his pitch black living room. Never did the stream of faces stop, even in his dreams...

Lucine week doesn't differe much from her usual routine. Every night she hits the club scene dead or living, which ever seems hotter and finds her nightly fill of fun and any food or cash that may come from it. She had been lucky in mking a good deal of money right before her unlife and with most of it tied up in stocks that she didnt know that much about. All she cared was that it ept the bills paid. The rest she got however it might come to her when hiting the party scene. Humans were always giving away cash prizes for contests that were all to easy for her to win, and she wasn't entirely aposed to being paid for her company.
There was one thing that made this week slightly different from the rest. She made sure each night to stop by the Black Adder and look for Rosa. She was still relatively new o the city but obviosly not new enough. She liked keeping a low profile but some one had taken notice of her, or else she wouldn't have gotten invited to those two parties. Thing had not gone a well as she hoped at that bar as she had hoped, but she would have to work on that problem later. It was rare when Lunice didn't get what she wanted, it just usually took awhile.
The week seems to have gone by with no hitches for the most part. Rosa seems to have disappeared off the radar for while and since even her co workers don't know where she might be. They call in Halo for a missing vamp report and explain that Rosa has never been gone from work for this long. She always comes back at least two days after Shocks parties. Lucine doesn't get anywhere much with finding Rosa considering that she's missing.
Kiki sends in two Asian women to be deputies for Halo. Changing princes can be messing was the answer Halo got when they arrived. The two seem friendly but have that undeniable guard air about them. The kinda air that says they have been in the business for a while. One of them tags along with Halo always with Halo in their sights.
Lucine runs into Shock a few times after the party "incident." Shock smiles and talks to Lucine like she never wanted to kill her at all. The only mention of the incident was the first meet up and that was when Shock told Lucine, "Don't butt in when I am dealing with customers. It's my bar and I will deal with them. Get in my way and I won't hesitate next time. Just sit back and enjoy the show when your at my bar. I'll deal with the unruly ones. It's best for everyone. I don't seem weak and then neither do you when I have to kick your ass." She then smiled pleasantly and told her that the next time she visited she could have a round on her.
When Lucine wakes up this night she notices an invitation sitting on her door step with a weight that had the Night Queen's logo on it.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
Lucine picks up the invite and the weight and sets teh weight on her bedside table. I wonder if this is Shock's doing or Halo's. Well, note to self, don't offer your help in this town. Now I wonder what exactly this is for. She reads the note quickly and opens her wardrobe. She decides on a black tank top with a rose bloom on the front. She uts on a black pleated mini skirt that would drive any guy with a school girl fetish crazy. She finishes it off with fish nets and her brand new boots. She smiles at her selfin the mirror as she puts her hair in high pig tails with black rosette clips. Black eye liner and blood red lipstick adds the final touch. Pleased with her self she tucks her hair sticks into her boots and suffs the invite, her lipstick and her wallet in a black leather mini backpack. She heads out her apartment and make's for the Night Queen's. If I'm lucky, Halo will be there and I can speak with him about Rosa.
The Toreador walked through the doors to the bar he so cherished. He knew where to find his childe if ever he needed to speak with her. Tonight was just such a night. Halo's heavy boots fell arhythmically across the floor, echoing a fremen crossing the dune seas. The pattern never discerned itself, but he could pick it out over the murmurs of kindred and kine and lupine and a dozen other species of night dwellers here. Tonight, unlike other nights, he had caught wind that there was work to do. Likewise, his attire showed it to the world. He wore a long, black duster, trimmed in gunmetal grey. At his left elbow, there was cured red leather that wrapped lovingly around and flowed down the exterior forearm like a tear of blood. Halo made no bones about his appearance on nights like this. He didn't care what mortals and immortals alike thought. He was their sentinel, and they would respect him or else.
The booted footfalls stopped short of the bar, and the vampire who wore them leaned against the smooth wooden surface. From behind his sunglasses, he recognized the woman tending bar tonight. She was one of his favorites, and she knew that his prescence tonight was for business only. He could tell. Her pulse peaked and her breathing heightened. Halo, however, made no other moves. "Shock," he spoke the name of his progeny, impressing his desire to find her to the woman before him.
"Ummm... Shock? Uhh.... Well she's make plans and said that she didn't want to be bothered and umm.... Well really I know she's here but she in one of the back rooms and well I don't know which one Halo." She looked nervous, and stuttered while she spoke. Fidgeting and shuffling while talking to Halo. "I have to get back to the customers or if Shock walks out here she'll get into one of her moods." She turned to go back to the other Customers.
At this time Lucine walks into the bar which is busy but not as busy as what it was during the party that Shock had thrown. She sees that there is several people at the bar.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."

[Well Then]
Nodding to no one in particular, Halo's voice slithered like a mucky ooze. "I understand," and just like that, he let her go. He knew his way around the backrooms like they were his own apartment. Stepping to the door to the backstage area, he began looking around, starting with the soundproof bandroom.
========= OOC: Lylie, can you define a 'scene' for me in your game. I have an idea.
Lucine walks into the club gracefully and moves towards the bar. She had caught a glimps of Halo there but he move away quickly to some where out of sight. Hmmm, I'll have to keep an eye out for him, until then I'll see if I can't get that drink. She walks up to an empty spot at the bar and waits for the keep to take notice. She take out the invite and sets on the bar befor her, reading it quickly.
Halo wanders through several rooms trying to find Shock, his ever elusive childe. After wondering through seven rooms he finds her setting up a table. It seems like its a romantic setting. Candles, plates for two, wine glasses, and ect. The only thing is its all in black and red. Not such a romantic feel to the table. Shock is in a elegant long dress, A drastic change from her usual short skirts and belie tops. She straightens up and looks at Halo in surprise. "What are you doing here? I haven't done anything in the past few days. I've even made up with the girl that you were so interested in at the party." She cocks an eyebrow at him.
When Lucine makes it up to the bar, the bar tender looks at her and shakes her head. "You should have worn something more appropriate. Something more formal." She nods her head in a motion for Lucine to follow, and walks to the back.
"You think that you can tell us apart? Many have tried, but then again, many have failed. What do you think the price for that is?" The Three Sisters Lylie-governess to a child of the first plain "You grew up. Thats a shame. The carousel never stops turning. You cant get off either. Its a shame."
