(Behind Opal)
With an arrow knocked and standing by, Aboriam stayed behind Opal as she went along the fissure. He watched ahead in the distance and the overhead areas. Creatures can drop out of the ceiling, and he didn't want any surprises like that.

[In the Cave]
Jenene puts her staff at ready position and begins to walk as the people ahead of her start to move. She then thinks to herself Here we go, I hope we are out of here soon. Jenene eyes focused ahead of her so she could see around the party.

The cave appeared less so the more it was examined. Oddly, carvings and patterns could be discerned in the walls, floor, and even ceiling. Opal especially could tell that the stonework was of exquisite quality. Most likely centuries old, this structure probably had been beneath the Capital City for some time without the knowledge of it's prescence. It almost felt less like a cave and more like a corridor the further it went on.
The way took a descent, and the air got cooler and damper. The smell of ancient, forgotten secrets seemed to hang in the air like a furled parchment. Musty and dank, the tunnel ended in a large room, sixty feet in height and well over fifty feet from side to side. Five doors were dispersed across the whole of the area. Two were on the western wall, one was centered across from the party, and two punctuated the eastern wall. All five of the doors had previously been open, supposably by the team that was being searched for. The room was well lit by a silvery vein of metal ensconced in the ceiling. The strange metal emitted an eerie, otherworldly glow.

[In the Room]
Jenene keeps her staff at the ready position while keeping her eyes on the five doors, looking from one door to the next. She was thinking or saying anything at this point in time. The only thing she was focused on were the doors and the party.

"How interesting." Amie whispers as the enter the room. "I wonder if that metla has been enchanted or if it naturally creates that glow. She Moves up to the walls and begins runing her fingers over them looks for maybe some ancient writtings that she could read to better tell which way the group should head next.

Aboriam moves to a point of advantage to watch as many of the opposite doors as possible. The apparent magical glow from the silver on the ceiling wasn't appreciated by the elf, who would have preferred to be in complete darkness. But then there are the humans, who needed the light.
For a time, shortly after arrival (OOC: 2 full rounds) Aboriam drew his arrow back, ready to fire.
(presuming nothing happens)
The son of Stormwatcher eased the arrow back to the neutral position on his bow. While still ready, it seems the threat of an immediate rush had passed.
(if something does occur, I will repost.)

(the strange room)
Looking around curiously, Opal's eyes naturally moved upwards, following the contours of the room. "That IS odd metal... I don't recognize it. And it don't look like one of those Everburning Light spells, either..."
Turning towards the others, the dwarven woman gestured towards the carvings in the walls. "Can any of you read these things? This is definitely a room of some sort; maybe these tell us what it’s used for..."

lylie wonder not about the metal but about how far they have gone under ground pipes up and askes "guys, how far down are we? This seems like its a bit to big for how far we went for me. Or is it just me?" She looks up in wonder at the high celing. Twirling a few times to see if what she was seeing was right.

[In the Room]
Jenene thinks for a moment about the mysterious light, after considering the possibilities she decides to use detect magic. After the spell goes into effect she looks around the room for the glow that the magic gives of when the spell in working.
(OOC: I am using detect magic, what do I see?)

(the big room)
Hearing Lylie's question from behind her, Opal wrinkled her nose, cocking her head to the side. "You know... thats a good question..."
Wandering slowly, carefully around the room, she tried to get a feel for how deep they were, and how high the cealing was.
Frowning, Opal put her hands of her hips, looking around the room. She was getting an odd feeling about this...
Looking back at Lylie, she confirmed the other woman's suspicions. "You're right. This room looks... fifty, sixty feet high. We canna be any more then fifteen feet deep." She looked over the others. "Be careful, guys..." ----- Opal is going to attempt to figure out how deep they are in, and how high the celing is.
I rolled...4. Update: Ok, thanks for the info.

[In the Cave Room]
Jenene says to the group, "Hey, there is magic in this room." Jenene approaches the nearest magical source and looks at it closely to see if she tell what the object is. She points the some of other objects to the rest of the party.

(Entering the Area)
Maldannon had little experience underground. He wasn't comfortable here and began feeling a little anxious. However, he cought himself before he panicked. Yer an orphan, fer cripes sake, Oire. Act like one, dammit. His mind cleared and focused, he looked around the room as well. He saw nothing out of the ordinary, and so proceded to look around absentmindedly. "I don't think there's much 'ere, Boss." Oire crossed his arms and legs and leaned his weight to the left side.

[In the Cave Chamber]
Jenene says to Oire, "The much of the room is magical, I hope to find some magical equipment to study and try." Jenene continues to search for a magical item or a source for the magical light. She thought The source has to be around here somewhere.

The Son of the Stormwatchers moved slowly and attentively across the room to Oire.
He whispered in the humans' common tongue. "Hey, Captain. You seem nervous. Is everything alright?"
Aboriam glanced to check the man's reaction. Though human, he seemed to have an air of confidence about him. Now, that seemed to be evaporating for some reason.

(Underground)
The warrior shrugged his shoulders and chuckled a bit. "I'm not so hot aboot bein' underground. I like to be in open fields and have the sky above me." He didn't move, however, and simply shifted his weight to his right side.
The room otherwise is unperturbed, and seems to have a deep covering of dust. It is, however, obvious that someone had been through here. Perhaps a month ago? The signs of their prescence, however, are scattered everywhere. It seemed they went in all directions down here. Maybe even through each door.

"Keep breathing, Oire. Slow and steady, Mate. We have to keep our heads here, OK?" the Elf's calmest voice carried the confidence he already felt about the man.
"Amie, Jenene, just how strong is the magic here? Is there a way to identify what the magic does? Opal, are you able to tell how far underground we are? Lylie, do the walls or the metal in them have any inscriptions?" Aboriam's mind split in two directions. Part went to asking the questions, while his eyes never left the selection of doors.

[In the Cave Room]
Jenene says to Aboriam, "I do not see a source, the hole room has been enchanted, I see no words to read, so I do not think there is a way to find out what kind of magic this is." Jenene waits for a reply from Aboriam. She did not think of anything at that moment in time.

(Underground)
Oire snapped up and stood straight. It didn't take twice for him to catch orders. He grinned sheepishly at Aboriam. "You got it, Chief." With that, the proud Orphan walked back over to his leader's side. "So, where to now? Looks like quite the place we've 'ere, eh?"

(the magical room)
Opal shook her head, looking around the room. She squinted, then sighed. Calling back to Aboriam, she wandered a little closer to the nearest door. "This place is... not right. We're not more then twenty feet deep, but the ceiling is so high..." Looking back at the elf, she shrugged, sure in her dwarven logic. "We canna missed it while up top. Must be magic."
She pointed at the doors, watching the tracks in the floor. "Only one way to go... Which one do we take?"

"Which way, indeed. When in doubt, go right." Aboriam stepped forward toward the door on the far right. Over his shoulder, he added in a soft but firm voice. "Keep the same marching order for now. And stay in sight of the person in front of you. OK?"
The Elf looked over his shoulder to make sure the rest of the party had formed and were ready to follow. There was no need to lose the others and face this magial labyrinth alone. The arrow remained knocked in his bow. Though there was no tension on his weapon, Aboriam would have no trouble to let the first shot fly and release a second one go in case of an emergency.
