Jenene approaches the cliff again and says to herself quietly in sprite, " She is nuts, the cliff is cut so neatly and evenly how can she hold on with those claws?" After this she keeps her eye on Lylie, not removing her gaze for one minute, until Lylie gets to the bottom, or comes back up to the top.

Aboriam watched the careful descent of Lylie across the face of the sheer cliff. As each of her gloved hands took a new and lower grip, his breath bated.
"Can you see any caves or recesses in the wall yet?" He wondered if his question had been carried above the sounds of the sea as it slammed against the base of this once-mighty city.

(the cliffside)
Watching Lylie, Opal held her breath, trying to keep an eye on her. The dwarven woman had no idea what she would do if Lylie fell, however...
Shaking her head, she decided to be a little more productive. She starts out, slowly and carefully walking around the edge of the cliff, looking for any oddly placed holes or other ways down.
Glancing behind her, she smiled. I had better keep the others in sight...

(Cliffside)
Oire took the hilt of his sword by the pommel and surveyed the surrounding area. It seemed to him that enough people were concerned with Lylie, he should be concerned with their general safety. He scanned the skies and watched the horizon.
The cliff face was sheer glass, cut thirty years ago by a force of unimaginable power. The world had united against the Elisthran but at the cost of the Capital City. Now, the waves of the sea lapped up against the thrity foot cliff face. Suddenly, Meeka flits around over the open sea and turns sharply, banking high as she flies. The bird appears to dive headfirst at the glass wall.

[Remembering Something Helpful?]
Jenene says suddenly, " I think I have something that might help us in this situation!" She pulls a wand out of her robe pocket and says, " I cannot believe I forgot about it, Lylie please come back up here, hurry, Amie tell Meeka to return to you, then everybody stand back!" She then whats for the party to react.

Lylie keeps looking. The waves under her feet were crashing so loud that she could not hear the people above shout. She continued to carefully pick her way along the sheer cliff looking for anything that would give what had happened to her friend. She desperatly need to get her friend home to her daughter.

(the cliffside)
Hearing Jenene's call behind her, Opal turned to find her holding a wand of some sort. Shrugging, she walked back over to the group, ignoring her race's natural caution around magical items.
Rejoining at the edge of the group, she called out. "So, what'cha got there, Jenene?"

[Questions and Answers]
Jenene turns to Opal and says, " I am going to try to use the wand to move the soil and try to find a cave so I would like the group to stand back for there safety." She then turns to Lylie and yelling as loud as she can, " Lylie please come back up here!" She then waits for Lylie to came back up to the top of the cliff so she can try what she has planed.

Amie takes her attention from Meeka for a moment put her trust in the small bird. "You said you are going to move the soil. Are you sure that will work? Look as the cliff side, it is all glass. I wonder how far one would need to dig to reach glass. I doubt far." The tone of her voice is not condinsenceding, but kind. She has wasted spells before from lack of forethought. She hated to see another do the same.

"Maybe not along the cliffside, but perhaps about a meter away from the edge. You can see that the glass is only several centimeters thick at the cliff, so back from the cliff is still soil." The Elf kept watching Lylie's climb as he spoke to Amie and Jenene.
"Perhaps a tunnel into the earth about a meter round and for as far at the wand's magic can reach could give us enough of a view to see any cavern or caves and room enough for some to climb down... Just let me know before you start."

[More Questions More Answers]
Jenene turns to Amie and says, " I am not to sure if it will work, but if it does not work I shall do what Aboriam has suggested." She then turns her attention to Aboriam and says, " Do not worry Aboriam, I shall let you know before I attempt to move the soil." She then turns back to the cliff edge and waits for the return of both Lylie and Meeka.

(the cliffside)
"Oh, ok!" Opal brightened a little, grasping the plan. “Just gonna to dig to the tunnels below, eh?” She smiled, and then frowned a little. Tapping her lower lip, she paused to ponder something. Walking over to the edge, she looked around a little.
“You would have to be careful, though.” Looking back at the others, she gestured with her hands as she continued talking. “You don’t want ‘ta break the cliff wall, here or there. That’s lots of glass to be hitting anything living on the bottom. Also, you would have to be careful not to collapse the cave below us… That would get us nowhere.”
She shrugged, smiling at Amie. “Good plan, though.”

Lylie started to move toward where she saw the bird last. She looked up and started to yell, "I've found..." but stopped realizing that she couldn't hear herself over the sound of the waves. She started back up to tell the others what she had found.

While still watching Lylie as she climbed the glassy wall, Aboriam quickly realized that she had stopped and tried to shout up to the party. The distance and the crashing waves overpowered her voice so that it blended with the background.
"Hey, people. Lylie isn't climbing anymore. Oire, tie off one end of this rope. I'll climb down to talk with her and make sure she's alright." Aboriam said, then added silently in his mind as it raced with the potential of magical disaster on the cliff, After all, that's what I am paid to do, isn't it?

Amie watches closely the events below her. It looked like Lylie had gone over to where Meeka had disappeared. Her mouth had moved but Amie hadn't heard what she said. "Wait Aboriam, I think she is coing back up. I think Lylie and Meeka heard something, but Meeka may not had heard my call for her to return." She looked back down and put her lips together to make a high pitched whistle. She hope the high pitch of it world catch th birds ears over the waves. "Besides, you should probaly lower me down, I'm lighter and Meeka disappeared somewhere down there. If she doesn't return soon, I should go down and find her."

Aboriam smiled sweetly at Amie. "Perhaps they are coming up, but it seems that we need magic up here. That is your place, Little One."
The Son of Stormwatcher paused here to allow the Elvish term of endearment register before contiuing. "Besides, I have some climbing skill. So I'll wear the rope as a safety guide and climb to them. Once there, I'll bring both Lylie and Meeka back."
The Shenachie handed the rope to Oire and winked. "See you in a few minutes, Captain."
(Whether Oire takes the rope or lets it fall to the ground)
Aboriam climbed sure-footedly over the cliff wall and down as quickly as safety issues would allow to the last place the human and the bird could be seen.

[Lylie Climbing Back Up?]
Jenene lowers her wand and goes to the edge of the cliff and looks down at Lylie. After a moment Jenene thought, " My, those waves are loud!" Jenene continues to watch Lylie very closely until she makes it back to the top.

Events Unfolding
(Cliffside)
Oire grabbed the rope and prepared to heft with Aboriam. He was the Consul for the Team, and he would certainly do his best. He looked to Jenene and Opal and called, "Opal, a hand please?"
Visible to any watching the events over the cliff, a single, little songbird poked it's head out from the side of the cliff. It shirped shrilly and disappeared into the cliffside. As those who saw the bird looked, they could distinctly see the cut in the glass in the side of the cliff. Easily ten yards to the groups left, the opening is five yards down, positioned halfway between the waters and the top.
