-=- Spirits of Mana: The Holy Sword -=-
-=- The Story -=-
Once, when the world was yet trapped in darkness, the goddess of Mana felled 8 incarnations of disaster that guided the world to destruction, the God-Beasts, with the Sword of Mana, and sealed them in 8 stones. And, as the darkness left, the world was created. The goddess of Mana turned herself into a tree, and fell asleep. Many years passed...
Due to the actions of some who plot to unleash the God-Beasts from the stones, obtain power surpassing even that of the gods, and to make the world their own, conflict breaks out heralding the end of peace...
Mana is rapidly disappearing from the earth. Even the Mana Tree has begun to wither...
-=- AUTHOR NOTE FROM NOW ON
This RPG is made for those who have some experience with Seiken Densetsu 3. Therefore, if you are interested, yet you have never played the game before... well, the first option is for you to go look for it. The second option is to look at the next paragraph.
There is an entity called the Mana Goddess who, thousands of years ago, saved the world from eight incarnations of disaster, the God-Beasts, and they were sealed into large, horn-shaped crystals called the Mana Stones. Afterwards, she became the Mana Tree and fell asleep.
Nowadays, there are six main factions in power: Forcena, home to the Knights of Gold, Altena, lair of the Queen of Reason and her magician army, the Beast Kingdom, created by a beastman who was intent in having the rest of his people living safe lives, Wendel, who has been trying to keep peace amongst the others, Navarre, a band of thieves that used to steal from the rich to give to the poor, and Rolante, an impenetrable fortress that is known as the Castle That Never Fell. Three of these factions are trying to unleash the power contained in the Mana Stones, and so take over the world.
This RPG will need a minimum of 3 characters, but a maximum of 6.

-=- Races -=-
Humans: Your average, run-of-the-mill people. Can be of any class.
Beastmen: Humans during the day, wolves during the night; these are the beastmen. Usually covered with fur, even when normal, and their faces show their animalistic traits as well. Half-beastmen are just the same, only they’re more humanish.
Half-Elves: The product of the relationship between a human and an elf. While they age slower than most humans (to the point where, in their teens, they still look like children), they’re also less stronger than them.
-=- Skills -=-
NOTE: You are NOT to put a value for these. Instead, just put up which skills are you best and worst with.
Strength: How hard you hit things.
Agility: Your overall speed.
Constitution: How hard can you take the hits you get.
Intelligence: How powerful your offensive spells or techs are, as well as your magical resistance.
Hmm... this site, previously posted, has some pretty good art on the various classes.
Couple questions. First, are elves the same as sprites found in the other games? Or are they more like the traditonal fantasy elves? I ask beacuse the game did not more the distiction clear as to which one they were using (I always assumed sprite, looking at how Carlie looks...), and I just wanted to know if I could be a sprite/half-sprite.
This looks like fun. I have a few questions. Do you mind short(2-4 lines) posts? And if so. I would love to join, as I love the Seiken Densetsu series, especially 3

Well... basically, so long as your post doesn't suck and you can manage some larger ones at points (when you need to show your own conclusions), it's fine. You don't have to do them all the time, just once in a while.
Name: Marcæs “Marc” (pronounced: Mar-kAyse) Age: 19, but physically appears to be around 11-12 Race: Half-Elf/ Half-Sprite (Nar~!) Class: Magician Best skill: Intelligence. Marc is an intelligent, thorough thinker, who doesn’t like rushing into things. Worst skill: Luck. Marc is terribly unlucky. He always seems to come out of random draws on the bad end…
Description: A young man who appears to be physically around 11 or 12 years, with a tall (for his age. He’s, like, 4”4 or something…), slender build and floppy, chin length black hair. He has pale, peachy skin and brilliant blue eyes. He wears a tight, white outfit over a long, deep blue robe, cinched shut around the arms, waist, and ankles, with silvery-white, rune-covered bracers on his arms.
History: Left in the wildness with the state of his parents unknown, Marcaes was found by an older man named Jose from Altena. Unwilling to simply abandon the boy to the cold, Jose took him in and raised him as his own, teaching him everything he could be being a Magician. Growing up in the castle itself, he came to know the young princess of Altena, Angela. Growing up together, the two of them turned out to be opposites on many things. Where she was passionate and emotional, Marc was much more calm and subdued, more likely to try to reason his way through a situation. They quickly became friends and rivals, competing on many things, trying to out due the other. While he was the first of the two to figure out magic, she definitely beat him in growing into her adult body first. Somewhat unaware of his Elfish blood, he is conscious of his height and slower physical development compared to that of a full-blooded human or beastman.
In actuality, Marcaes has a somewhat natural flair for the magical arts. Unable to use a staff to focus his energy like most Altena-trained magicians, he has developed his own style of casting spells. Using his hands as the focus, he draws the energy together, almost ‘sewing’ together a call to the Mana spirits. Because of this, he rarely carries a staff around with him for a weapon; though trained to use it, he prefers combat gloves or gauntlets that let him defend himself while keeping his hands free. Also, because of his size his hits don’t to too great amounts of energy; the power attack he has developed allows him to generate a small blast of energy to go along side a physical attack to help make up for this.
Can I get some more information on the Chevalier/Amazon and the classes you have listed under them, speficically the Rune Maiden. Is this smething you work towards like a level 5 Amozon is called a Rune Maiden or is it something yu can pick up from the beginning.

Artemi: Pretty superb. I like your profile. In you go!
Celest: Well, while I can't exactly give you more information without knowing what you're looking for, I'll explain how things go.
During certain points in the game, your characters will be given the option to class-change, which means that your character will become stronger and able to do more stuff, like casting spells (for example, a base Einherjar/Valkyrie class can cast Stat-Up spells on other party members, while a base Rune Fencer/Rune Maiden can cast Stat-Down spells on enemies).
*Base classes means that the class is exactly like the one in the game.
Name: Tilmer Age: 23 Race: Human Class:Thief Best skill: Agility. Tilmer has a natural knack for speed Worst skill: Strength. Because he train in only Agility, Tilmer suffers with weak body strength Description: A lithe and acrobatic boy. He wears a long blue scarf and a navy robed shirt. A rose insignia adorns the belt that he wears. His boots and pants are plain, a basic pair of white slacks and brown thief's boots. He stands at 6'1 and weighs around 140 lbs. At his sides are a pair of stylish obsidian sheaths with golden handled daggers. His hair is long and brown, tied back in a loose ponytail, his eyes were a brilliant sky blue and seemed to shine in the right light.
History: Living in Navarre all his life, thievery was the only thing he knew. He stole from all and gave to himself. One day, he decided to steal from his own kingdom, and his father caught him in the act. Disappointed in his son, Tilmer's father sent him away before the Thief King found out what Tilmer did. Now Tilmer lives in Jad. Working for the Tavern owner by day, and stealing at night.
Best skill: Agility. He relies on his ability to hit a lot, rather than how hard he hits. (But his Strength isn't too shabby either...)
Worst skill: Spirit. Lay's never cared much for magic, and for 'spirituality' and 'upliftedness' even less.
Description: Though perhaps an attractive man, many people--namely, more refined types-- would find Lay a bit of an attack on several of their senses. Several small scars can be found tracing over his body, particularly numerous on his rough hands. His brown-grey fur is matted and filthy, his long-grown hair hanging in his eyes (The filth would also imply he's none to pleasant to smell, either.). He's somewhere between medium height and shortish, standing at 5'5". The skin under his fur is tan in color, and his slitted eyes are a pale violet. His build is lean but muscular, and he wears simple but effective leather armor.
History: Lay was raised in a secluded area of the Beast Kingdom, wherein his family trained and raised him. He's always been taught to be indifferent and uncaring in his job; he is a sellsword. Or a sell-lance, if you want to be specific. He will do whatever he his hired to do, fight, protect, and above all, kill.
As the training is expected, this profession is one that rather drains a person of morality, sympathy, and even a good chunk of personality. Lay's training has left him an indifferent, critical, and 'secretly' very cynical man. His family, satisfied with his ability, had him go off on his own quite a few years ago. He's travelled wherever he sees fit. And he does whatever those with money see fit.

Sorry for the delay... I got rather... underwhelmed by issues.
Anyway, while I like the last one, I think it's rather... I dunno the word. Maybe it's just the fact that I don't get much of the character's personality (in the sense of it being dark and stuff).
But, well, so long as it doesn't grow too hard for everyone to manage, I guess it's fine. You're in!
Description: Gerik stands at roughly five feet and eleven inches tall, and weights roughly one-hundred and seventy pounds. His hair is sage green and is of medium length, and he has a small goatee growing on his chin. His eyes are a deep hue of blue, and he has a muscular build. His body is littered with scars he has received from all the fights he has been involved in. Of all the scars that Gerik has received the most noticeable would be the one that stretches from cheek to cheek, and travels over his nose.
When it comes to his attire Gerik prefers to keep this simple, and only wears what he needs to wear. For the most part he will be found wearing leather armor as it allows him more maneuverability than metal armor, and is a general user of any type of light armor. Currently, he wears a dark purple leather cuirass with a chainmail lining underneath. The cuirass is sleeveless, and only has protection for Gerik's right shoulder. Other than that, Gerik doesn't wear much more armor other than his leather fingerless leather gauntlets that extend halfway up his forearm. He also wears black baggy pants and black boots, and strapped diagonally across his torso is the sheathe for his claymore. Gerik also has a katana that is sheathed on the left side of his waist, and he has several daggers placed in a pouch that is placed on the back of his pants. Also, he always wears some sort of head-gear that pushes back his hair and is used to keep the sweat from dripping down to his eyes while fighting.
Best skill: Constitution. [Gerik prides on his ability to take several hits, and get right back up to continue fighting. Though, the only thing that is second to this skill is his strength.]
Worst skill: Spirit [Gerik was never one for healing spells as he was never particularly attracted to them. Rather, he preferred to specialize in offensive methods. Also, he has never been a very spiritual individual.]
History: Gerik's origins are currently unknown to him, as are the identities of his biological parents. The reason being was that he was raised by a band of mercenaries that, after his birth, were hired to kill him for reasons unknown. However, when the mercenaries got the chance to kill the baby Gerik they couldn't bring themselves to do it, and simply faked the death of the child and took him in as one of their own. This band of mercanaries, known as the Shadowstep, was never truly affiliated to one nation or the other as they were composed of members from the various nations. Thus, they would travel the lands searching for work anywhere they could get it.
Of all the members of the Shadowstep the one that seemed to grow the closest to Gerik was the leader of the band, Darrin "Grimmjow" Jack. Grimmjow was re known across the land as a skilled swordsman, and he would eventually take Gerik up under his wing - teaching him everything that he knew. Years would pass, and Gerik would eventually begin to make a name for himself as being Grimmjow's successor in swordsmanship. Everything seemed to be going good for Gerik, at least until he turned twenty. It was at this time in his life that Grimmjow would be killed on a mission to protect a noble from Wendel one her trip to Forcena. Having taken the attack, some sort of ice magic, that was intended for the noble he swiftly killed the attackers alongside with Gerik and other members of the Shadowstep. Unfortunately, the wound he received turned out to be fatal, and in his dying breathes he told Gerik of the mission they were given to kill him as an infant and that his true parents were still out there.
After having buried Grimmjow and finished the escort mission the members of Shadowstep held a meeting as to who their new leader should be. It took a week, but finally a decision was decided. The Shadowstep would be lead by Gerik, the one who had spent the most time with Grimmjow and knew him the best out of all the members of Shadowstep. Gerik, still stricken with grief over the death of the only father he knew and trying to deal with the new information that he had been told of his origins, accepted the position. Since then, he has lead the Shadowstep, following faithfully in Grimmjow's footsteps. Currently, Shadowstep has been hired to discover a way to unleash the power of the Mana Stones by an organization that continues to remain anonymous.
Description: Lanka looks very much human, expect she is covered in jet black fur, all except her feet and hands which are white. Her eyes are an icey blue. She hair is also jet black and is kept in a long braid that goes down past her back. She stands tall at six feet, is lean but quite muscular. She wears flared black pants that are close fitting but very comfortable and easy to move in and a loose cream colored tunic with a black sash.
Best skill: Agility, Lanka is quite strong, but above all she is extremely fast.
Worst skill: Intelligence, Lanka is quite rash. She mostly follows her instincts and gut, therefore usualy does and says the first thing that comes to mind. She is also rather short tempered.
History: Lanka's father, a beastman, fell in love with a human and choose to live outside the beast kingdom with her. Growing up, Lanka knew very few other beastmen other than her father, and so did the rest of the village she grew up in. Therefore the children she knew thought her weird and refused to play with her, making her an outcast and teasing her calling her names common amoung pets. One boy in particular always called her "Socks" because of the coloration of her fur. Lanka hated it. She knew "Socks" was the name of the boy's cat and hated being called a cat. The boy picked up on this and began meowing at her to get more on her nerves.
It wasn't long before Lanka was getting into fights with him and the other children at school. The teacher was rather short with Lanka and Lanka was always blamed for every fight she was in, no matter if she was provoked, had started it or not. When Lanka was 14 she was expelled from school. Lanka's parents sent her to a near by monastary to continue her schooling.
Lanka found a strange sort of comfort living with the monks. She hated being sent away, but she was no longer teased. She was often scolded for not doing well in her studies but she loved training in the art of fighting. She grew particularly close to her fighting intructor, Rin, though at first she hated him. He gave her the nickname "Howler" shortly after she arrived and thinking back to the days she had been teased she resented the monk for it. However one night evening she was pulled for her meditations by the sound of a near by wolf pack howling in chorus. She wandered towards the sound and found her teacher listening peacefully to the music. He expained that he loved the sound of wolves howling and that was why he had given her the nick name, it was a term of enderment not another disrespectful.
After that Lanka worked even harder to become a great fighter like her teacher. When she was 18 she decided to leave the monastary and adventure the world. It was a hard discion to make but ultimately she decided to leave so that she might meet more of her own kind and become and even better fighter.
*Lanka has a secret crush on Rin though has never told any one and tries very hard to keep it hiding. She plans to return one day and tell him when she has the courage to.
Check this (WARNING: Non-viral popups.) site out. It's got alot of good information about the various parts of the game, including a world map and pictures of the various classes for each character.
