I thought that as one of a my moves when coming back to the temple, would be to start a new thread or two.
Having just attended a "Goth Night" at a club up in Bowling Green, I got the itch to start mixing my own music again. So what I'm doing is using this thread to get more people interested in Electronic music in all it's forms. From Techno, Trance, Industrial, and Darkwave, to Acid Jazz and Progressive House. The list goes on. Everyone can post in this thread and just give some of their favorite Elelctronic music songs and artists. And if you can try your best to classify what you would concider them genre wise.
I'll start us off with some Goth/Industrial and Darkwave music ^^
Hanzel Und Gretyl : Third Reich From The Sun Hanzel Und Gretyl : Komm Ju Uns Snake River Conspiracy : Vulcan Snake River Conspiracy : Lovesong Icon of Coil : Simulated Icon of Coil : Pursuit Icon of Coil : Dead Enough for Life Eisbrecher : Zeichen Der Venus CombiChrist : God Wrapped in Plastic CombiChrist : This Shit Will Fuck You Up CombiChrist : Sex, Drogen Und Industrial CombiChrist : The Line of the Dead Assemblage 23 : Disappoint (Funker Vogt Remix) Assemblage 23 : Purgatory Panzer AG : God Eat God Panzer AG : Panzer Panzer AG : Chemical Breed Mindless Self Indulgence : Bed of Roses Mindless Self Indulgence : Shut Me Up Grendel : Zombie Nation {Yeah, Conscript if you download this...don't kill me for putting it up ^^}
But yeah, go it it kids ^^

I am still fascinated by the original and basic group Kraftwerk. Something I like to do is listen to a couple of their works in time-sequence. You can actually hear their music shifting from some quite impressive Jazz (with Kraftwerk [1971]) through Technopop (Man-Machine [1978]) to the early forms of Electronica (Computer World [1983]).
Especially interesting is their first effort with pure electronics, Autobahn (1971).

Poet, I remember hearing from Eunhathes that you are the person to talk to as far as Kraftwerk goes...I would like to gank some of their music next visit if that is allright with you. I know I could use some of their beats and synth rifs in my own music.

That works for me. :-)
I also like some other groups that use elements of electronika in their music as well. Ultravox being the most noted of them.
Remember that I graduated High School at the start of the New Wave movement of music. It was the first time that a school of music used extensive sythesizer and heavy beats. It was something new and it caught my attention. Good stuffs.
