Wow I didnt relize how close the wedding is. As far as me coming down to the Ohio Prerelease well... I doubt it. Roger usually drives and it saves me gas by going with him and the Carmalot peeps. Thanks for the offer though.

Holy... wow. Those aren't your old-school split cards... Those are really nice abilities; Dave's complaint about split cards being weaker and more costly is rather... null, at this point.
They had split creatures, so I suppose I should have seen this coming...

For some reason I simplely don't believe this. Maybe its the fact that they will be printing all the guilds in the last set. Maybe its the fact that it is guild alligned period and that would lead to having a split card for each guild combo. Maybe I just think Punishiment should be Boros, not Golgari. I really don't know, but something about that strikes me as wrong.
We'll find out soon enough though.

Drat, Celest beat me to the punch. Yeah, I don't believe this to be a real card either. My main reason however, is that this card is in ENGLISH. Wizards is very careful about letting things slip before pre-release. That's why the cards you see smuggled out are always from foreign offices. This doesn't look like a quickly snapped photo either. It looks like it's been created on the computer.
My vote here is definitely for fake.

29Mar 2006 Magic ArcanaSorry everyone. Looks real from here. In any case, you cannot deny that Punishment would become a game breaker a la Pernicious Deed. If for nothing else, at least this would help explain the 15 extra cards slated for release in Dissension.

Two colors per card, thats 10 cards. If they have a run for ally pairs (possibly at the uncommon level) and have a run of the enemy pairs at rare, it could work and still leave room for another group of cards.
They have something planned, and I think this is it. Why else would they have the extra cards in the second small set?
Besides, the Nephilim were non-Guild gold cards. Why not the complete opposite?

Do you think they will just pick 4 Guild rivalries or have a split card for every Guild combo. Correct me if I'n wrong but that last one would equal 45 spilt cards. Which in its self is an argument against it.

My guess? Each card will have a ally pair and and enemy pair, making for 10 cards total. Either that, or there will be only 5 split cards, and taking this one as precedent, it will be split along enemy pairs and be rare. They seem to really be pushing the "normal ally and enemy color pairs don't matter here" theme, so they may very well go with the second option. Oh, and Aaron here directly refrences Crime/Punishment at the end of his article, in the poll. So, it looks like its an actual card, too me... Yay!

Hmm... 1 Demon (Rakdos, probubly...) and 5 Dragons. Intresting... looks like five of those fifteen extra cards could be a new group of Dragons...

An idea about those split cards: What if the W/U, U/G, B/R split cards take up the appropriate rarity spot in the Guild's gold cards? Now, for proof they exist! Gatherer Search for //. // is the symbol the oracle uses to seperate split cards. // appears in the Orb for Dissension 20 times. This means they are there. How many it means, however, is up for speculation. My guess? 5. If you look at the Oracle text, you can clearly see where there are 4 instances of // on each card. 20/4 = 5. My guess? Each Guild is only on one card with a color meant to work with the Salt and Pepper style the split cards have always been printed with. Here's my guess: Selesnya//Azorius (W/U/G) Orzhov//Golgari (W/B/G) Boros//Izzet (W/U/R) Dimir//Rakdos (U/B/R) Simic//Gruul (U/R/G)
