I stumbled across this while at a game shop last night. Why wasn't I informed that the 360 would have such a sexy game in its repetoire? This, and possibly H3, could prompt me to buy a 360 all on their own! "If they want war, we'll give 'em war."

Holy Mother of God
That looks... wow...
Spartan Group Omega? Does that mean that there supposed to be the last Spartans left? Does this mean that this is what the other Spartans were doing while Master Chief John was doing the shooty shooty in the first game?
Hmmm, maybe it's a tactics game. That would be cool.

Actually, yes. This is a RTS (real time strategy) game, done by, correct me if I'm wrong... ant, arte... the people who did Age of Empires. Which, when coupled with the badassery of Bungie's rendering engines (ref: H3 trailer is all engine driven animation...) yields one of two reasons I might be swayed to the Dark... er, Microsoft side.

...I'm... not actually sure what is going on in this vid... Yes, there are Spartans, but... there are FAR too many to be part of John's original Spartan squad.
I DO know that there was a second batch of Spartans being built/raised/trained, but if this is them or not... I have no idea. That could be the only real answer, though, and I am under serious doubts as to if Bungie cares/acknowledges the books, so...

maybe this is the begining of the invasion when there were still a good number of Spartans. And the fact they are called Omega refers to the fast that they are used as a last resort cuz the rest of the military hates them.

That doesn't really pan out well, if nothing else because Spartan squads are in groups of four... Though, I suppose a "group" could be a different category then squad...
Also, those are Battle Rifles that they are holding, which don't show up (at least in the books and the games) until AFTER the battle of Reach and thus Halo 1. So... meh. We'll see.

Let's just hope that Halo Wars turns out to be a better game that Age of Empires 2 and its Star Wars knock off. Ant Arts is, in my opinion, one of the worst makers of RTS games ever.
Age of Empires 2 was a graphic masterpiece as far a RTSs in its day go, but the gameplay was stale and slow. Also, the game's multiplayer computers were pathetic.
Ant Arts had better shape up if it plans to touch Halo. It would be truly pathetic if this was just another attempt to whore out selling franchises into other markets. I can't stand for that.
I await this game with many reservations. Here's to hoping that they aren't necessary.
