Since I will shortly be enjoying my winter break, I am looking for a good video game to play. But I can't decide what. So I figured I'd ask all of you. I am looking for something for the PS2, preferrably an RPG. Let me know! Thanks!

It's not an RPG, but Shadow of the Colossus is amazing.
Lately I've been getting my RPG fix from replaying FFX.

Indeed. I hear Shadow of the Colossus is quite the OMFGHFSBBQ kind of game. Isn't that a PS2 title? If so, I might put that on my wishlist for christmas.

It is, indeed, a PS2 title. It's like.... damn. I don't know what it's like. Whatever it's like, it's damn cool.
Plus, you know, Parthian shot. Into eye of GIANT FREAKING WORM.

I might include a suggestion for Xenosaga Episodes 1 and 2, as they are quite fun games with incredibly good worlds that they build off themselves. They also do a great job with making a futuristic RPG world, which does not come up all that often, I am sure you know.

I would suggest Altelier Iris: Eturnal Mana. This game has just recently been hitting the shelves here in the US, and fortunate for me, I picked up a copy and have been playing it. I really enjoy it.
As far as Shadow of the Collossis goes....I didn't have a problem with it persay. The graphics where beautifull....down right OMFG, but it has been pulled from the recent japanese trend of the "no deserable plotline" genre. "Congratualtions! You beat the game!" *Cues Final Fantasy Fanfare music.* "Aquired one plot!" GAME OVER.
Not to mention that in my opinion it's just a progressive Boss battle game....but I've said to much allready.

Much thanks to everyone for the excellent game suggestions. I looked up some new releases earlier today. I must say Magna Carter: Tears of Blood looks quite interesting, but I think I'm going to buy Xenosaga I. Hopefully I get to buy it tonight, in celebration of finishing my first quarter of school. Thanks again guys, and let me know about any other games you like.

OMFG! I forgot about Magna Carta!! Made by the same great people who brought us War of Genesis! Beautiful artwork. Sometime I must locate a copy to play!

Is War of Genesis any good? And what system is it for?

Wasn't War of the Genesis itself a Magna Carta game?

So late last night I went to the store intending to buy either Xenosaga I or Magna Carta: Tears of Blood... unfortunately they didn't have either. So, on the suggestions of Shane and the random guy who worked there, I bought Radiata Stories. Has anyone heard anything about this game? Did I waste my $50? I guess I'll let you know what I think when I eventually get into the game...

It is a rather good purchase, I would say. My brother recently picked it up, and he spent many a late night playing it. It has a fun combat system, and part way into the game the storyline splits, which is always good for replay value. You can even get some fun special characters in the optional dungeon...

One RPG that I'll ALWAYS recommend to people is the original Grandia for the Playstation (as in PSX here). It has a great storyline and a battle system that doesn't suck (like Altelier Iris' did =/).
If you've got access to the Lunchbox Thingy from Nintendo, then I'd go with Tales of Symphonia. It's not the absolute best RPG I've ever played, but it is a rather fun one that will give you a number of difficult bosses and a rather inspired world to play in.

Allright, I will agree that the battle system for Iris wasn't exactly great, but your focusing on the neagative Conscript. I know you like the game for everything other than the battle system, you told me so.
But, one thing that I would suggest to you also is Grandia. If you havn't played it, I highly recomend it. ^^
