From the moment I had stepped on to Cestus III, I suspected that the will of the Prophets would be difficult to divine. The ensuing days would prove that unfortunately true.
The Maqui director who had sent me to join the Unity's Vengeance had failed to provide her port and slip numbers. In fact, all that I was told was the name of the ship and her Captain. I had no idea just how large the spaceport on Cestus III had become.
Using some improvised methods, the number of ships to search through had been narrowed from literally thousands down to about a dozen or so. I knew that the station security crew would be searching for me, but that would take some time. Still, I couldn't search at leisure, haste was the order of business.
The first ship I visited was guarded by a dense mongrel of a man. He didn't understand my hints when I asked if his vessel were the Unity's Vengeance. Instead, he took me to his Captain who turned out to actually be a pimp for a Slut-Ship. As I asked to be released, she informed me that they had already lifted off.
Before we could discuss terms for release, a Federation starship had formed a blockade. She immediately suspected that they were looking for me. I had obviously done nothing that would arouse the wrath of the mighty Star Fleet. All of my activity had been in a righteous campaign against the Cardassian Empire. Quick action allowed me to inform the Captain of her misunderstanding of the situation and suggest to her a less-violent means of resolution.
